Bento2015#Dec08~Hello Kitty Egg Sheet

When was the last time I prepare egg sheet designed? Hmm..... quite long I think =_=" Looking at the Hello Kitty Thermos lunch box makes me think of easier way to decorate since is small space :) To learn making deco egg sheet simply visit +Shirley Wong "Little Miss Bento" tutorial HERE ^_^

A close up photo of my Hello Kitty egg sheet ^_^ I use two large eggs then separate the whites and yolks. Why I need two eggs? Because the balance egg sheets and add on to my son's lunch box compare to use 1 egg don't think will be enough :p

After separate the egg whites and yolks simply beat it using a fork and sieve to remove the bubbles. I pour the egg yolks to non stick pan then let it cook under low heat and off it when look dry. Remove from heat and I use Hello Kitty cookie cutter to cut the head and heart shape cutter for the love surrounding. Put back the cook yolk sheet and inject the egg white using injection syringe under low heat. When cook then remove and add on the nori details ^_^

For side dishes have pandan chicken wraps, broccoli, fish ball (oval shape) as Hello Kitty and egg sheet yolk after cut out.

I hope you like today's sharing "Hello Kitty Egg Sheet" bento ^_^ Have a lovely day!

Bento2015#Apr24~Bento&Co Sandwich Bento 2015 Contest

Did you see the result from Bento&Co Sandwich Bento Contest at FB? My sandwich bento are among the 10 finalists! I was so excited to spot my sandwich at FB and couldn't believe it! This is my 3rd times to participate Bento&Co contest. Is a challenging and fun making whenever I decided to joined in the contest each year.

So this year theme is about creating sandwich. If you follow my blog, I hardly make sandwiches bento for my daughter lunch. Pretty hard to think or create and the rules that Bento&Co looking for.... really need to do some homework on it! So this round, I focus on the sandwich. I love my sandwiches with eggs fillings so I get the idea of creating "EGGS" sandwiches ^_^ Different kind of eggs such as hard boiled eggs, century eggs and quail eggs! Yums! I toasted whole wheat bread and trim for the perfect sizes. Here's my sandwich ingredients:
  •  6 pieces of whole wheat bread (toasted)
  • 1 hard boiled egg (large and I use kampung egg)
  • 1 century egg
  • 2 quail eggs (for extra touch to make chicks)
  • lettuce/tomatoes/cheese/mayonnaise
  • orange and grapes as well cut out tomato rose for decoration
Not forgetting create some cute chicks but I focus on the sandwiches for taking photos. Because that's the main contest. Well, to create yellow quail egg simply soak at turmeric water and remember to stir. As for the other two-tone quail egg, I soak half and leave some white part. The dark brown color, I mix water and some black food colouring but after soaking the color wasn't black =_="

Arrange neatly for each sandwiches into the Monbento box and filled up the rest of the side dishes. Next, is the photo takings! I took countless shots.... really a lot and only can pick ONE for the contest. Oh gosh.... how I wish can submit more than one with different angles... hahaha....

Thank you for reading my posts and if you like my sandwich bento or view more delicious sandwiches bento from other finalists. Just click HERE to vote. Only one vote for per person and will end on April 27th (Monday). Thank you so much for your support and appreciate bottom of my heart. Hugs!

Congratulation to all 10 finalist and click HERE to view two winners ^_^ Super amazing!

Bento2015#Mar30~Easter Bunny Hello Kitty

My first Easter Bento for this year 2015 and once again I dress up Hello Kitty as easter bunny ^_^ This round I make pink bunny costume for Hello Kitty and is pretty easy to make. Check out the picture layout that will show you the steps by steps since I can't take picture while making but I tried to draw out the layout using computer :p

Here is the closer look of my Easter Bunny Hello Kitty ^_^ I hope from the picture below you can understand how I create due to I don't have time to snap the tutorial. All you need is a cling wrap to wrap the rice. Before wrap the pink bunny, just mix cook rice with some sakura denbu. To make Hello Kitty face, make sure you press the rice flatten and join together with pink rice by wrap it together.

Opps.... I missed out adding two legs for easter bunny for the above picture =_=" Anyway, I'm sure is easy to understand. The paw nori, I use paw puncher. And the red bow crabstick, I use Hello Kitty ribbon cutter.

For side dishes have pea sprouts, minced beef with dark sweet sauce. I cut out some easter eggs make from egg sheet (yellow), edamame (green), crabstick (red/white). Punch out some nori shapes to decorate the easter eggs. The Hello Kitty basket is not edible but only for display ^_^ I just want to create a theme of Easter Bunny that Hello Kitty is searching for easter eggs :D Hope you like this idea.

Bento2014#Dec04~Tomato Spaghetti

Simple tomato spaghetti for today's lunch and I'm using this 3-tier My Melody bento boxes (one of my daughter's favourite lunchbox). Once again limited space for decoration so I just use quail eggs for simple characters! This is easy by adding the food pick onto the quail eggs to create animals ^_^ So guess what animals base on the top photo? Hehehe.....easy right? Blue pick for bunny and orange pick for bear :D

For side dishes have broccoli, prawns and grapes. Extra tomato sauce at the sauce container.

I hope you will like today's lunch and I can't wait to create my Christmas Theme bento next week onwards! Have a great day and thanks for reading :)

Bento2014#Sep09~Bunnies Bento

My daughter told me that reading programme still continue on every Tuesday even though is the new term =_=" She can't finished the food if I packed a lot so today's lunchbox pretty small and less food. At least she didn't skip her lunch meal ^_^

So what's inside the egg sheet? It's fried rice and I just add some design for my egg sheet. Sadly didn't turn out perfect.....well still cute right?
To made bunnies, I cooked the egg white first then cut out bunny using bunny cutter. Next I pour the egg at non-stick pan, make sure is low heat and I add the cut out bunnies lay on top of the egg. Looks like I add on too early so you can see some of my bunnies has egg on it. Finished up with nori details and crabstick for red bow.

For another container, I add mini oranges and pea sprouts.

I hope you like this bunnies bento lunch. Have a nice day!

Bento2014#Aug28~Kitty-Chan Again

Non-stop Hello Kitty theme bento this week!!! Looks like after my visit to Bangkok Hello Kitty House Cafe still made me think about Hello Kitty :D Whenever I started to do my sketches.....still prefer to design Kitty-chan!! hahaha Better think about other design next week!!!

Well, today's lunch I cooked some pasta with tomato paste (sauce at container) This bento is simple and I'm sure you all can do it ^_^

Here is the closer look of the Hello Kitty Egg sheet. I use the same bento box (picture above) to cut out eggsheet for circle shape. Freehand scissor cut out nori for Kitty-chan face features. Underneath is the cooked pasta. Tomato ketchup as ribbon ^_^

Pour the tomato pasta sauce into the small container with cover. Arrange the sausages on top of cover container and follow by adding broccoli and tamagoyaki. Lastly, decorate with some kawaii HK food picks!

Ta-daa....isn't easy? Hope you like it too ^_^ Happy Thursday!

Bento2014#Aug27~My Melody Quail Eggs

Do you like My Melody? Today's lunch I cooked fried rice (egg & fishballs) and made My Melody from quail eggs. No time to add a bench for her (figurines as picture above) so I just let My Melody stands ^_^ Just a simple design and ideas from the figurines.

Here is the closer looks of the quail eggs to transform into My Melody by just adding nori, cheese and tomato ketchup :) The body quail egg cover with veggie to look like a dress. Easy & quick right?

For side dish: Slices of oranges, mini grapes, chicken seaweed wrap.

Hope you like this My Melody theme bento. Happy Wednesday!

Homecooked Hello Kitty Meal

Opps....I made Hello Kitty Inari again for today's dinner meal. Hope you won't bored to see ^_^ Actually I didn't plan to made any foodart for dinner but I just want to try out the HK silicon mould (bought during Bangkok trips) to steam eggs. The steamed eggs turned out pretty good except some bubbles on it =_=" I didn't follow any recipes but just cook my usual normal style (lazy style) Hahaha.....so if you like to try out just simply follow your recipes ^_^

Here's the close up steamed eggs ^_^ Do you notice two different colours? Three darker yellow and the other three light yellow :p This is due to I use two types of eggs! Why so troublesome? Because I thought beat two eggs can filled up all 6 silicon moulds!! I'm so naive :D That's the reason I took another two normal eggs (run out of kampung/village eggs). The top part was smooth after steamed but flip over the HK faces have bubbles :( Perhaps you can enlighten me if you know the reason. Thanks in advance!

More closer looked from the plate ^_^ So sad to see Hello Kitty face lots of bubbles :(
Underneath the steamed eggs, I stir-fried Bok Choy veggies with fresh button mushrooms.

Simple Hello Kitty Inari, this time I use rice mould to shape instead of cling wrap. Ribbon and flower made from apples and the nose made from steamed egg by just using the cutter to cut out. Punch out nori for the details and freehand scissor cut out the eye lashes ^_^

It's seafood day for my family on every Friday so I cooked simple prawn & baby squids with tomato paste :)

Ta-da.....Homecooked Hello Kitty Dinner Meal for today's post! I hope you like it and happy weekend ^_^ Cheers!
