Bento2016#Mar04~Pooh/Hinamatsuri/Goldfish/Miffy

Good day everyone! Here I am to update my weekly bentos and I hope you like it ^_^

Day1: 29/2/16 (Monday)

Winnie The Pooh
On Monday, I made Winnie the Pooh rice popsicles ^_^ I have Pooh bear rice mould so pretty easy to shaped it. To made the rice yellowish simply add boiled egg yolk to mixed the rice and I used half of the boiled egg only for this bento. The other half boiled egg went to my son's lunch box :D
I added some chicken floss for each Pooh rice popsicle and filled up with nori details on top. To made it cuter I added bee foodpicks too! As for side dishes have pea sprouts, gyoza, grapes and chilli sauce (small container)

Day2: 01/03/16 (Tuesday)

Goldfishes
On Tuesday, I made used of the cherry tomatoes to create goldfishes ^_^ Most of the bento-ers will know how to made and I must thanks to the first person who created this awesome creative idea. I'm sorry that I've no idea who started first but you can easily learn it from Youtube (that's how I know after saw from others).
Filled up the rice into the thermos and add on the goldfishes on top (Be sure to have enough level to cover up, you wouldn't want to pressed the goldfishes flat when your kids open it) Designed with cheese for the eyes & mouth (I used two different sizes of straws) To made "blue" background, I used one blue pea flower petal soaked at hot water then tap them surrounding area of the rice.
For side dishes have sesame chicken drummets, broccoli, tamagoyaki and some fruits.

Day3: 02/03/16 (Wednesday)

Hinamatsuri
On Wednesday, I created my 2nd attempt of Hinamatsuri Bento. I cooked some pasta and to decorate the theme characters, below will be my ingredients:
  • Fish ball : Cut half for each Emperor & Empress face
  • Nori/seaweed : Freehand scissor cut out to add on as hair
  • Japanese cucumber : Emperor body
  • Tamagoyaki : Empress body
  • Carrot : Fan/Flowers (to made holes simply used a small hole straw)
For side dishes have beef patties (mayo on top) and some kiwi fruits with grapes.

Day4: 03/03/16 (Thursday)

Miffy
On Thursday, I wanted to make another Hinamatsuri theme bento for my girl since it's the actual day but my girl prefers other character ^_^ Well, I know my girl likes to bring thermos lunch box so I made "MIFFY". To made Miffy, I used fish ball again for the face and ears. Tamagoyaki for Miffy yellow dress instead of using crabstick for red dress :)

For side dishes have dark sweet sauce chicken drummets, broccoli and some frutis.

On Tuesday, I made shopping girl ^_^ I think majority ladies will love window shopping, perhaps including the man as well who knows :D Well, I have some cookie cutters for the handbag, shoe (dress & hat but I didn't use cut the eggsheet out) to matched the shopping girl theme bento. The dress is made out of milk cabbage奶白菜and perfectly pretty as a dress :) Eggsheet for hair details and I added nori for extra touched.

Day 3: 3/2/16 (Wednesday)

Since CNY is coming soon, I created my 3rd CNY Theme bento. I made Baymax wears samfu and wished "gong xi fa cai" for the upcoming CNY :D Looking smart and handsome right? Haha.... Bento2016#Jan29~My CNY Bento

Time flies so fast another week passed and soon the Lunar Chinese New Year just around the corner ^_^ So this week bento sharing I started to create some CNY Bento and hope you like enjoy and like them.

Day 1: 26.01.16 (Tuesday)

Hello Kitty Monkey Costume
Monday is a public holiday so I didn't make any bento since no school ^_^ On Tuesday, I started to create my 1st CNY bento and since is the year of Monkey why not let Hello Kitty wears Monkey Costume to celebrate this upcoming CNY. I know my daughter will love it :D

To made brown rice as monkey, I add some sweet dark sauce and mixed with rice. Shape the head, body, arms, ears and legs. The white kitty-chan face just shaped a thin layer of rice and lay on top of the monkey head. Next create the cheese face featured for monkey and nori detailed.

As for side dished have spinach, bitter gourd with egg and prawn potato.

Day 2: 27.01.16 (Wednesday)
Sleepy Pandas
On Wednesday bento will be sleepy pandas =_=" Felt so sleepy that day so all I could think of was PANDA!!! Is pretty easy to create since I've the panda rice mould and panda nori mould to create the detailed. So basically I just spend time on cooking the eggplant (pan-fried) and meat patties (pan-fried). I did packed a small container for the grapes but forgot to take picture :(

Day 3: 28.01.16 (Thursday)

Little Girl GONG XI FA CAI
On Thursday, I made 2nd CNY Bento creations ^_^ This round I thought of made some Tangerines since oranges in Chinese sound like the "gold" hence it has an auspicious meaning to bring in good luck and wealth. So I made the tangerines using mashed sweet potato to create them and to made it cuter I add little girl holds one tangerine :) I should have made her dress in red qipao Cheongsam then will looked nicer :D Oh well, I didn't thought of it that day.....

As for side dishes have spinach, fishballs and potato croquette.

Simple deco sushi for lunch ^_^ I make these pumpkin deco sushi for my daughter's Halloween theme bento lunch. It looks easy from the Japanese sushi book tutorial but when comes to hands-on =_=" Anyway, I don't have the fishcake for the mouth so I use Japanese cucumber instead :) Still look good right?

To make the rice orange in colour, I mix the rice with furikake or you may use ketchup :) Japanese cucumber for the eyes/nose/mouth. Wrap the cucumber with nori then only arrange to make into pumpkin.

For side dishes have potato cheese croquette, broccoli and chikuwa. Freehand scissor cut out the nori to make a bat and put on top of the cheese.
