Meet the movie character from "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" animated science fiction comedy ^_^ I always wanted to make Flint Lockwood, the leading role of this movie and finally I did some sketched last night and try to made this morning. I'm glad while arrange Flint into the lunch box, my son looked at it and asked me: Is he from the Cloudy Meatballs movie? Yeah!!! I did it!!! But my son prefers the monkey Steve :) He said Steve so cute.....hahaha...but he doesn't want it for his lunch so all cute bento for my daughter ^_^

Here is the close up Flint Lockwood & Steve monkey. As usual mix the rice with ketchup and shape it using cling wrap. Kombu for Flint's hair and eyebrows. Nori for the details. Crabstick (white) for eyeballs and the blue eyeballs, I crashed the blue fondant then add on cheese.

As for Steve, shape the rice and freehand penknife cut out the crabstick (white) for face and sausage for mouth. Add chicken floss for hairy head on top.

For side dishes: Mini burger (sausage/egg/lettuce), prawns, broccoli, cherry tomato & slices of oranges.

Bento#June10~Mama Monkey & Baby Monkey

Today's lunch I cooked spaghetti with mushroom tomato paste. My kids seem to prefer tomato paste compare to creamy mushroom. So for today's theme, I made Mama Monkey & Baby Monkey put inside inari skin ^_^
Both monkey made from mashed sweet potato and I used cutter to cut out the ham for mouth and ears. I also cut out two long tails for Mama Monkey grabs Baby Monkey tail :)
Cut out checker apple and flower ham for another sides. A packet of furikake that my daughter liked to add for her lunch :p Some broccoli and cute picks! I hope you will like today's theme bento. I find that I should add more green colours! But don't think my daughter have the time to finished her lunch bento =_="

Bento#May23~Sanrio Chi Chai Monchan

Introducing another Sanrio character that I know my daughter will definitely love it!! Why? Because of the PINK colour ^_^ She just love pinkish coloured and no matter what kind of animals or things, as long she saw PINK will fall in love :)
When I browse Chi Chai Monchan image noticed mostly banana on top the pink monkey. And in this bento I changed to broccoli. Haha....due to I already prepare tamagoyaki at side and if I put banana (yellow) top and bottom will be too much EGGS for her :) So I skip that banana idea.
Mixed rice with Mizkan Colourful Osushi Pink and shape into onigiri. Trim out monkey face cheese with toothpick and punch nori for eyes. Freehand scissor cut out nori lips and add ketchup for the cheeks. Green soba for monkey tail.
Here is the Mizkan packet that I bought it from Singapore. Actually I wanted to buy Sakura Denbu but I saw this packet with pretty kawaii picture on it so give it a try for the taste. Turns out not too bad :)
Side dishes contains kamaboko, checker apple, sausages, tamagoyaki , half quail egg (the other half at brother's bento) and broccoli. A packet of furikake (Hello Kitty) that I didn't put together for photo taking.
I hope you will like today's lunch kyaraben. Cheers!
