Bento2015#Oct19~Halloween Pumpkin Deco Sushi
Simple deco sushi for lunch ^_^ I make these pumpkin deco sushi for my daughter's Halloween theme bento lunch. It looks easy from the Japanese sushi book tutorial but when comes to hands-on =_=" Anyway, I don't have the fishcake for the mouth so I use Japanese cucumber instead :) Still look good right?
To make the rice orange in colour, I mix the rice with furikake or you may use ketchup :) Japanese cucumber for the eyes/nose/mouth. Wrap the cucumber with nori then only arrange to make into pumpkin.
For side dishes have potato cheese croquette, broccoli and chikuwa. Freehand scissor cut out the nori to make a bat and put on top of the cheese.
I hope you like this simple Pumpkin Deco Sushi.

Bento2015#Sep17~Sanrio Inarizushi
Let's make some Sanrio Inarizushi ^_^ I think this is my first attempt making three different Sanrio characters :p So which one you like the most among all three Sanrio? Honestly, I find My Melody face too small! Don't you think? Haha....
Here's the close up for Pom Pom Purin Inarizushi. Yellow rice make of hard boiled egg yolk mix with rice. Nori for the details and shimeji (top) for hat and I secure with toasted spaghetti.
Here's the close up for My Melody Inarizushi :) To make pink rice, I mix the rice with sakura denbu. The white face is make of fish ball and the red bow is crabstick.
Who's next? Of course is Hello Kitty ^_^ I know my daughter will tell me she likes Kitty-chan the most after she see her bento! If among all three Sanrio character I miss out Hello Kitty.... she will ask me why? Haha....
To make Hello Kitty is pretty easy, I just shape the rice and add two ears then finish up with nori details. Egg yolk for nose.
Since I'm using Monbento lunch box, I just fill up the extra space with some sausages, sweet peas, fishball (balance), lettuce and oranges.
I hope you like this simple Sanrio Inarizushi design ^_^ Have a great day!

Bento2015#Jul26~Bunny Deco Sushi
Yay! I'm so excited to get one copy of my dear talented and favourite bento food artist Shirley Wong from "Little Miss Bento" ^_^ This is her latest new launched Kawaii Deco Sushi Book that I must said very nice tutorial pictures taken and most importantly in English version :D So where to purchase? You can easily shop at Kinokuniya bookstore at your area or other major bookstores or perhaps purchase online ^_^ For more details can hop over LittleMissBento blog.
Since I got the book, I can't wait to practice my deco sushi but sadly didn't turn out as pretty as Master Shirley bunny deco sushi :D Looks like I need more practicing than will improve! I choose to bunny deco sushi among the rest because I like bunny :D
Opps.... look at my first attempt creating big and unbalanced bunny ears =_=" Can you see that I actually making bunny deco sushi? Looks weird right? Hahaha....
Oh well, nothing comes easy so I need to practice again to get it correct.
A closer look of my bunny deco sushi :) To make my bunny cute, I add extra lashes :D
Underneath the bunny deco sushi, I add rice first and cover up with chicken floss. Arrange the deco sushi and some lettuce.
My fridge running out of ingredients so I use mashed sweet potato to make carrots! I also cut out some cherry tomato roses and decorate few slices of oranges behind the mashed potato carrots!
To match my bunny deco sushi theme, I use Bento&Co "WanWan" bento lunch box ^_^ Look kawaii together right?
Well, I hope you like today's Bunny Deco Sushi of mine ^_^ Have a lovely Sunday!

Baymax Deco Sushi
Hello dear readers! I'm taking a long bento breaks since my kids school will reopen end of August ^_^
I made some Baymax deco sushi for last night dinner since I've time to shaped it after cooked all the dishes. I didn't take picture for it because I don't have extra hands to snap =_=" Well, I'm sure you will understand how I create Baymax based on the photo above or perhaps with my simple explaination below:
Do you notice Baymax hard boiled egg? Roll into a ball shaped while the egg still hot (just be careful) So which character you like the most? Baymax or Hello Kitty?
Well, I hope you will enjoy today's post ^_^

- Create Baymax first! I used cling wrap to shaped a footlong sushi then wrap with nori
- Mixed colour rice with furikake then spread on top of one full size nori sheet
- Put Baymax sushi in the middle of the mixed rice then grab hold with your hand and roll or cover up.
- Hints: I put cling wrap at the bottom and nori on top then start adding rice.

Bento2015#Apr14~Little My & Moomin
Today's simple lunch I make sushi rolls. Lack of motivation to follow the sushi foodart recipe book =_=" So just create simple one for their lunch :p To make it nice, I add Little My & Moomin using cheese for decoration on top of the sushi rolls.
For my sushi rolls, I mix the rice with furikake, Japanese cucumber, tamagoyaki, maoyannaise and nori.
For Little My & Moomin, I freehand scissor cut out nori for all the details and trim out the cheese with toothpick.
*Note: To cut out the nori, I use trim eyebrow scissor. You may view the tools HERE.
Along the side dish just cut out pan-fried chicken fillet (I use chicken breast marinate with soy sauce, cornflour then pan-fried it by dipping the egg wash & breadcrumbs)
Some grapes (my girl never get bored with grapes and my son prefers oranges) I pack sushi rolls for my son as well except with decoration :D
Hope you like today's sharing ^_^ Have a lovely day!

Bento2014#Sep30~Sardin Puff & Sushi Roll
Simple & less foods for every Tuesday lunch. So I baked some puff for family breakfast and packed some for their school bento lunch. I add sardin fillings for the puff. While waiting for the puff to baked in the oven, I made simple sushi roll too so that easy for her to grab & bite ^_^
Here is the close up sardin puff that I add some decoration to made a bear ^_^ Simple and quick by adding the cheese and nori for the details. Lastly add the pick bow pick since my daughter will prefer it female bear :D
To made the sardin puff, I use ready frozen pie crust (I left it defrost at fridge and remove it this morning for making) Run out of tuna so I use sardin instead for the fillings. I also add fresh button mushroom (cut into slices) to combine with the sardin. Wrap all the fillings into ball shape then add the ears. Before bring it to the oven, coat some egg wash om top and baked it until golden brown ^_^
For sides dishes just add some Japanese sweet potato, sushi roll, sauce and kiwi fruit.
I hope you like today's sharing :) Have a blessed Tuesday!

Bento2014#Sep29~Panda Sushi
Yawn....every Monday seem hard to wake up early morning =_=" Feel like my dark circle around my eyes getting darker!! Been catching up Korean Drama lately....so today making Panda Sushi for my Monday blues...
I rolled some Panda makisushi but the mouth look not successful. I use panda sushi kit set to made this panda and I still find it hard to use or may be I need to practice :D Oh well....perhaps next round I will made another panda without using the sushi kit set (making excuses!!!) But I'm sure some of you who have this same set will do better than me!! Round of applause to you! Clap clap...
I add the panda sushi into this lunch box from Casa Bento. Space limit as well so I add two panda sushi only. To made the panda eyes & nose. I mix the rice with black sesame powder. For side dishes, I add panda chicken, yam samosa, edamame, prawn & sushi sauce at panda container.
I pack some oranges slices at another small container for her dessert (didn't take together in this photo)
Bon appetit! Hope you like today's Panda Sushi lunchbox. At the bottom post can view the Panda Makisushi Tools Kit I've used for today's bento. Happy Monday!

Bento#Nov14~Chicks Makisushi
Kids requested sushi for their lunch bento last night so I read through my Japanese sushi book for ideas. I found this chicks look pretty easy but too bad I'm not sure how to make the orange part for the chick mouth due to lack of ingredients =_=" End up I just rolled with rice and nori then after cut out the makisushi, I add orange capsicum on top to replaced. Hehe....did I passed?? Well, this is my 1st attempt so I need to practice more to make it better :)
Here is the closer look of my humble Chicks Makisushi. All together in the bento box have four makisush. Below is the details:
Yellow rice: Rice mix with yellow furikake
White rice: Rice as cracked shell
Craked "w" : Inari with nori
Orange part : Orange capsicum use round cutter to cut
Spend too long for making the chicks!! The only side dishes I can managed was just adding some strawberry, lettuce, quail eggs (soak with turmeric powder water), ketchup (chick sauce cup) and hawflakes. Well, I hope you will like my today's post "Chicks Makisushi" ^_^ Cheers!
