Bento#June12~Red Riding Hood Kitty

Yesterday I saw two different Red Riding Hood Kitty bentos posted by Bento, Monsters & 5am Bento ^_^ I loved both of their designed and inspired me to made one for today's lunch bento! My morning bento always in a rush so this HK bento seem unfinished job =_=" I still want to designed my house but the main character theme MUST be done with all the nori details.....sigh....
A closer look of HK Red Riding Hood together with the bad wolf! Only HK head used oval shape cutter to cut out the cheese then the rest of the details were freehand penknife & scissor cut. Crabstick for the red and eggsheet for the yellow. Oh...the ribbon cut by cutter not freehand :p
Airfried the Japanese Chicken Seaweed, steamed the broccoli, straw mushroom and cut the apple. Eggsheet and nori for the house and crabstick (white) for the road. Well, I almost want to give up on taking photos as I'm running out of time! Need to get myself changed for work and send them to school as my hb & I drive one car.
Oh well....today's bento was challenging work under stress of time! Especially I'm a working mum.

Bento#Feb27~The Cat in the Hat by: Dr. Seuss

Princess bento snack will resume other days as I want to join in the linky party for Dr. Seuss birthday on March 2nd. I'm sure most of you know who is he? To be honest I don't know much about Dr. Seuss except the cartoon movie "The Lorax" :D But my darling son know this writer so I got pretty much information from my son ^_^ Good job son!! To get images I need to print out so I choose "The cat in the hat" So here is it!!
I made toast bread sandwich with peanut butter. I draw the cat on a piece of aluminium foil then cut out lay on top of the bread, toast in an oven to get the image. I learn this method from "Little Miss Onigiri" one of my favorite's blogger. She did a Melody Deco Toast Obento so I'm using the same method to create The Cat!! I add in all the nori details to let the cat stand out more nicer. As usual, cut and paste :) The red part was crab stick and the hat also. As for the whisker, I toasted spaghetti strips then add in after finished all details.
Some honey cherry tomato as balloons, marshmallows and a box of raisin. I hope you will like my Dr. Seuss theme bento ~ The Cat in the Hat ~ I will post my theme bento at "Bento USA" , "Bento Bloggers & Friends"and "Bento Blog Network" Do check out from the links to view more wonderful Dr. Seuss bentos!! Hugs & cheers!

Bento#Jan32~Alice In Wonderland

I'm going to join the linky party for Happy 181st Birthday Lewis Carroll at BentoOnBetterLunches blogs for anything with Alice In Wonderland. I asked my girl to bring out her storybook to showed me the stories with pretty pictures! And I spotted one section of the pictures that I liked to used for this theme bento ^_^
I used charcoal bread to make the "Cheshire Cat". Freehand cut out the cheese for eyes and sprinkle crushed green and blue fondants then add nori for eyeballs. The cat lips and ears were made from charcoal bread skin. To stick the lips, I spread some hazelnut spread. Cut cheese for sharp teeth and add one by one.
As for "Alice" It looks easy but a lot of work to do =_=" I just used toothpick to draw out Alice by looking at the picture and luckily didn't make mistake :p I try my luck to trace freehand so please don't follow my way :D It will definitely nicer if draw on baking sheet first then trace out :)
These alphabets fondant pretty handy when you need to make sentence! So just dip some hazelnut strawberry spread and paste. I used small circle cutter to cut out the cheese and add the time :) No more space for rabbit so just used pick!
Some strawberry for dessert! I try to squeeze few character roles in this bento :D It turn out pretty well :)
I do hope you all will like this "Alice in Wonderland" bento ^_^ If you like to see more bentos from other bloggers, please visit the link :) Cheers!

Bento#Jan12~Humpty Dumpty

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall.....sound familiar with the nursery rhyme? I saw this cute little fellow when my two darlings still toddler :) Especially my girl likes this cute "humpty dumpty" But now both of them already grown up and I kind of missed those days....
I make checker bread as wall. I trim away all corners of bread skin and cut few strips in the middle so that I can sew like checker with seaweed strips. Just like when our school days doing the art & craft lesson. To make "Humpty Dumpty", I don't have any oval shape cupcakes or cookie so I used circle shape cream cupcake. The blue hat made of cheese and I crushed blue fondant then sprinkle on top. From the closed up photo can easily understand what ingredients I've used :) The red cheeks and bow tie made from boiled crabstick. To make sure stay firm, I spread hazelnut chocolate.
Persimmon fruit with some flower decoration from crabstick. I used flower cutter to cut, all together have three different sizes. Hawflakes next to it :)

This "Humpty Dumpty" and the bus soft toy brought back so much memories....I think tonight I'm going to spend some time to watch my darling kids baby video!!! Yay!!! I hope you too will like this bento! Cheers!
