Bento2015#Nov12~Hello Kitty Omurice

Back to school after 3 days no school (Monday to Wednesday) due to Deepavali holidays ^_^ Cook this simple omurice for lunch but sadly my eggs not pretty :p I create the omurice into Hello Kitty shape simply using cling wrap to shape it. Next, I freehand scissor cut out nori for the face details. Spread some mayo to let it stick onto the egg. Honey cherry tomato for the red bow and secure it with spaghetti.

Arrange the Hello Kitty Omurice then follow by few slice of Japanese cucumbers and lettuce.

As for another small container contains with grapes and oranges.

Bento2014#Jul08~Totoro Ice Cream Bento

It's Tuesday again!!! Time flies....week by week I'm counting down my kids final term school break ^_^ Less food on every Tuesday so again I packed ice cream theme bento. Last week start off with Hello Kitty so this round TOTORO!!! Do you like My Neighbor Totoro movie? My kids loved it including myself too :D Hahaha....

Here is the close up Totoro Ice Cream ^_^ To made Totoro, I mix the rice with black sesame powder into the ice cream shape then put small circle white rice (flatten it) on top. Lastly, punch out nori for Totoro details! Whiskers made from toasted spaghetti and I add pea sprout for some green touch (of course for her to eat together with the rice).

Meatless and really less food >_< Sigh......Don't understand why must the the school made such arrangement during their lunch break!!! Argh.....

Well, I hope you like this My Neighbor Totoro Ice Cream Bento ^_^ Happy Tuesday!

Bento#Nov21~Little Chicks Bento

I still have left over egg sheet so I thought of making design egg sheet. Just a simple design to make them into Little Chicks ^_^ Still can be improve as I only use one medium egg white for this design. Will try again for better result! So, today's lunch I cooked fried rice and cover with Little Chicks egg sheet.
Little Chicks Egg Sheet:
First I use egg shape cutter to cut out my left over egg sheet. I cut out 4 chicks to fit in well into my bento box. Next, take an egg & just want the eggwhite to make this design. Mixed the eggwhite with some cornstarch/water and strain to a new bowl. Take a non-stick pan, pour the eggwhite mixture then lay the cut out oval egg shape on top.  Let it rest and make sure turn off the heat as you don't want the eggwhites over cooked :p
Final touch is to add nori for cute different expression.
As for side dish I just add tamagoyaki, cherry tomato, ketchup (chick sauce container), fish cake, oranges, cucumber and apple as leaves.
Ta-da....simple lunch bento for today and I hope you will like it ^_^ Have a great day! Cheers!

Bento#Sept14~Rice Burger Dinner

Yesterday bought new fruit picks so I decided to made "Rice Burger" for dinner ^_^ I thought of make use of the burger picks for next week school bento but sadly not suitable for school due to the edges too sharps so I told my daughter that only for home used. Since she can't bring it to school then I just made dinner bento for her :D
I used burger rice mould to shape the rice as burger tops. Then add lettuce, tomato, eggs, fish meat. Cover the rice burger with nori and I add Rilakkuma pick on top just for decoration ^_^ Mayonnaise at the Rilakkuma sauce container.
Grapes and apples for the burger fruit picks! Well, simple dinner bento and hope you all will like it! Have a great weekend to all ya!
