Bento2016#Feb19~Back to school bento

GongXiFaCai! Still in CNY moods and kids back to school this week ^_^ I'm back to my bento routine....yawn* Hopefully I can continue maintain my blog and one day when my kids grown up will bring back the sweet memories <3

Day 1: 15/2/16 (Monday)

Lots of PANDAS
After one week of bento break, I always will think of panda due to sleepy and dark circle :D So here I shaped the panda with cling wrap instead of using panda rice mould. Freehand scissor cut out the panda nori details and quite easy even though not using the panda rice mould set. Give it a try if you don't have any panda rice mould set.
For side dishes have broccoli, half of the hard boiled egg (another half for my son's bento), panda chicken wrapped and some carrots.

Day 2: 16/02/2016 (Tuesday)

Bear Mashed Potatoes
I cooked some soba noodles (bought at organic store) that my girl requested. To make my bento cute, I added the mashed potatoes shaped as bear. Freehand scissor cut out the nori eyes and punched out the mouth detailed. Lastly, I added some cute food picks to let it stands out.

Day 3: 17/02/2016 (Wednesday)

Bonbonribbon Vs. My Melody
On this day I made Bonbon ribbon vs My Melody since my girl loves both of these Sanrio characters. Wonder which characters you like the most among these two? To made the rice pink, I added pink sakura denbu (bought local store that selling Japan goods). Immitation crabstick for the ribbon/flower. As for side dishes have drummets, pea sprouts and mashed potatoes (top coat with mayo and parsley flakes).

Day 4: 18/02/16 (Thursday)

Lots of HELLO KITTY
Bought another type of noodles from organic store. It's pumpkin noodles ^_^ This is simple designed and pretty easy to prepared. Hello Kitty face features made of kambu, carrots for flower and ribbon (I used hello kitty cutter). Some broccoli to made the divider, gyozas and tangerines with little touched up with nori :)

Bento2015#Nov19~Lots of BEAR

Some thing simple and quick bento lunch for her ^_^ No special character but I just add on the face features and no idea what it looks like.... more to a bear perhaps :p  What do you think?

To create yellow rice balls, simply add some hard boil egg yolk to the rice. Mix well and shape them up using cling wraps. Punch out nori details and create into different expressions ^_^

First arrange the pea sprouts & enokitake into the silicon cup then only arrange all the rice ball along the side. Spam meat for side dishes and ketchup at sauce container.

I hope you like this simple and quick "Bears" bento. Have a lovely day!

Bento2015#Oct08~Caring Bear Bento

Some thing cute for her lunch instead of continue making Halloween theme ^_^ This round I will make a brown bear that likes sea creatures (using food picks). It's easy to make your theme bento by adding few cute picks! Think about it, I hardly use lots of food picks for my bento nowadays.... unless is the ribbon picks :D

Here's the closer look of my brown bear make of rice onigiri coat with chicken floss. Nori for the details! Arrange the bear first then slowly cover up the rest of the dishes (baby cabbage, carrots, ginger chicken, quail eggs and grapes)
.
I hope you like today's sharing and guess what? Next week is my kids school one week break not because of the bad haze but mid term break =_=" Anyway, I might have time spending on baking....hehehe.....

Happy Thursday!

A closer look of the panda and mini quail egg panda ^_^ Simply use panda rice mould to shape up the rice and finish with nori details (freehand scissor cut) So easy right by using the rice mould :D

For side dishes have pea sprouts, gyoza, crab meat claw and some grapes/oranges.

Bento2015#Sep22~Duffy Bento

Perhaps this bento you will see it as a bear bento but actually I'm making Disney Duffy Bear ^_^ Well, still look like a bear right? Haha...

Duffy brown rice make of chicken rice (overnight chicken rice from dinner) At first, I try to shape Duffy head as onigiri but fail....the rice is oily and seem that it won't stick together firmly =_=" After I remove the cling wrap and arrange it, the rice ball slowly loosen. Argh! So I need to change ideas.

No time to waste so I just spread the chicken rice into the bento box and add white rice balls details to make Duffy face together with nori details.

For side dishes have minced pork, cheese balls and spinach.

I hope you like this simple Duffy Bento sharing ^_^ Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday was my daughter's 11th Birthday and I didn't host big party celebration. Just eat out together with my side of family and my in-law side ^_^ How time flies that in my heart I treated her as my baby :p Since her birthday was yesterday no school no bento so I replaced this cute birthday bento for today's lunch. Oh why not Hello Kitty? Hehehe..... she already got a Hello Kitty birthday cake so I thought for a change making this cute Jackie bear instead. I have the cookie cutter so just make use of it! Simple and quick!

Here is the close up Jackie the bear school ^_^ Just fill up the rice and add the cookie cutter for each side. The top left Jackie, I fill up with minced meat. As for the top right Jackie opposite way ^_^ I don't add all minced meat for the right side, at the bottom is rice and cover up with some minced meat. Lastly, add on the nori details.

For side dishes have broccoli, carrots, egg rolls and Jackie make from mashed potato :)

Finally add some birthday decorations and balloons for birthday girl ^_^

Back to my easter bento, I make Kumamon Bento with mama chick and baby chicks for easter theme.
To create Kumamon, just add rice onto the box and I sprinkle some furikake on top before I cover with seaweed. I use Kumamon cutter to cut out the cheese details and finish up with ketchup for cheeks ^_^ Also make two ears for Kumamon by freely using toothpick to cut out the cheese.

Mama chick make of scallop fishcake, nori and carrot.
Baby chick make of tamagoyaki, nori and carrot.
Some prawns and pea sprout for side dishes.
Grapes as dessert.

Here is the Kumamon cutter set that I've use. Bought it during my Japan trips ^_^

Bento2015#Feb09~Kumamon Bento

This is my first attempt to make Kumamon character ^_^ Visited Fukuoka Japan, noticed that Kumamon seems popular! From goodies to bento can easily buy Kumamon character but I just buy this rice mould set (view the box picture after the post).

Here's the close up Kumamon holds a heart made of crabstick. The Kumamon head, I use the rice mould to shape then wrap with nori. The seaweed cutter mould comes together in a box and face cutter as well. So basically very simple by just using all the bento kits! But the body, I shape it using cling wrap then wrap with nori. Lastly, add the arms. (I forgot one last step! The red cheeks =_=")

For side dishes have pagoda cauliflower, pandan chicken, yam samosa and some grapes.

Here's the picture of the Kumamon bento kits set. As I've mentioned that I missed out the red cheeks! Sigh......

Hope you like today's post but my daughter still not use to Kumamon new character :D She said who's this? Oh well, I need to make Kumamon often :p

Bento2014#Sep30~Sardin Puff & Sushi Roll

Simple & less foods for every Tuesday lunch. So I baked some puff for family breakfast and packed some for their school bento lunch. I add sardin fillings for the puff. While waiting for the puff to baked in the oven, I made simple sushi roll too so that easy for her to grab & bite ^_^

Here is the close up sardin puff that I add some decoration to made a bear ^_^ Simple and quick by adding the cheese and nori for the details. Lastly add the pick bow pick since my daughter will prefer it female bear :D
To made the sardin puff, I use ready frozen pie crust (I left it defrost at fridge and remove it this morning for making) Run out of tuna so I use sardin instead for the fillings. I also add fresh button mushroom (cut into slices) to combine with the sardin. Wrap all the fillings into ball shape then add the ears. Before bring it to the oven, coat some egg wash om top and baked it until golden brown ^_^

For sides dishes just add some Japanese sweet potato, sushi roll, sauce and kiwi fruit.

I hope you like today's sharing :) Have a blessed Tuesday!

Bento2014#Sep10~Korilakkuma Bento

While looking for everyday bento lunchbox for next day (one night before) I saw some rice mould that I hardly use =_=" I prefer to shape it using cling wrap so seem that I've forgot about all those cute rice mould (all at my storage box). So today's theme to match my Rilakkuma bento box, I made Korilakkuma ^_^ Because my background already brown so I prefer my bear to stand out nicely. Looks cute right compare to Rilakkuma :)

A lot of preparation on cooking side dishes so using rice mould for shaping just come in handy. I made two tone tamagoyaki and surprisingly the inner yellow part look like heart shape ^_^ If you want to know how? I'm sorry to said that I don't know how? Hahaha....guess I'm lucky!
In this lunchbox contains pea sprout, shimeji, soba noodles, chicken drumette, tamagoyaki and mini grapes. Lastly shape Korilakkuma using the rice mould then add nori for details. Red part for ears are ketchup.

Hope you like it today's lunch bento. Happy Wednesday!

Bento2014#Sep02~Piggy & Beary Bento

Oh gosh....yesterday was a Public Holiday for us and today I almost overslept =_=" Simple piggy & beary onigiri for today's lunch bento and to make it look smart, I add spectacle as decoration ^_^ Bought the spectacle from 100 yens shop. Isn't cute?

To make piggy, I add some green seaweed powder (bought it from organic shop) to mix the rice & some seasoning. Shape one big rice ball for the bottom and shape smaller seaweed rice ball for piggy. Add edamame for ears, nori and cheese. Fill up the holes with inari after arrange the piggy & beary :)

Same method with piggy for beary. Repeat the methods and I just add the spectacle differently.

Side dishes: spinach, gyoza and cut checker apple.

I hope you will like today's post bento. Happy Tuesday!
