Bento2015#Mar30~Easter Bunny Hello Kitty

My first Easter Bento for this year 2015 and once again I dress up Hello Kitty as easter bunny ^_^ This round I make pink bunny costume for Hello Kitty and is pretty easy to make. Check out the picture layout that will show you the steps by steps since I can't take picture while making but I tried to draw out the layout using computer :p

Here is the closer look of my Easter Bunny Hello Kitty ^_^ I hope from the picture below you can understand how I create due to I don't have time to snap the tutorial. All you need is a cling wrap to wrap the rice. Before wrap the pink bunny, just mix cook rice with some sakura denbu. To make Hello Kitty face, make sure you press the rice flatten and join together with pink rice by wrap it together.

Opps.... I missed out adding two legs for easter bunny for the above picture =_=" Anyway, I'm sure is easy to understand. The paw nori, I use paw puncher. And the red bow crabstick, I use Hello Kitty ribbon cutter.

For side dishes have pea sprouts, minced beef with dark sweet sauce. I cut out some easter eggs make from egg sheet (yellow), edamame (green), crabstick (red/white). Punch out some nori shapes to decorate the easter eggs. The Hello Kitty basket is not edible but only for display ^_^ I just want to create a theme of Easter Bunny that Hello Kitty is searching for easter eggs :D Hope you like this idea.

Bento2015#Mar26~Hello Kitty Mashed Potato

Whenever my daughter requests to bring this thermos lunch box, I need to crack my head to design it =_=" Limited space to decorate.... all I can think of is make use of mashed potato to create Hello Kitty ^_^

First of all, I add the rice into the thermos and cover up with inari bean curd. Arrange broccoli along the side then shape Hello Kitty mashed potato. Freehand scissor cut out nori details and apple for red bow :) As for the pencil is just a decoration. Can't be eat :D Last minute add on to the bento for photo takings as I find it too plain. Lol!

At one of the container contains minced pork, quail eggs and sweet potato that I use cookie cutter to cut out the shapes. The red spots at the quail eggs is tomato ketchup. Before I add the ketchup, cut out a heart shape using cutter then fill in the ketchup.

Another container just add grapes and checker apple.

I hope you like my simple Hello Kitty bento lunch.

Bento2015#Mar25~Rilakkuma & Kiiroitori Bento

Simple lunch bento for today that I just decorate my meat patties into Rilakkuma ^_^ I skip Korilakkuma due to the light colour because my patties are too dark for it. At least I have time to make Kiiroitori make from tamagoyaki :p And can you spot the missing part?

Here is the close up photo. I'm sure you can notice my mistake =_=" Is my Kiiroitori!!! I miss out two small dots at the carrot nose! Argh.... Well, by looking at the photo now, it seem that my Rilakkuma don't look like. Am I asking too much on perfection? Lol!

I don't follow any recipe for my meat patties. Just marinate minced meat with cornflour, soy sauce, fine garlic/onion, spring onion and dash of pepper. Before I pan-fried it (I prefer pan-fried instead of deep fried), roll the meat patties into the shape that you prefer then dip with egg and bread crumbs. Cook until golden brown.

To decorate into Rilakkuma, I cut out cheese for the nose, nori for details and button mushroom for ears.

For side dishes just pea sprouts, carrots, grapes and mandarin oranges. I hope you like this simple bento. Happy Wednesday!

Burger fillings contain egg, cheese, spam, lettuce and some mayonnaise. I add some grapes and strawberry Kitty for her desserts. Click HERE to view the youtube tutorial that I learned from :) But I use nori for Hello Kitty details instead of chocolate.

I hope you like today's simple Hello Kitty Burger bento. Have a nice day and thank you for reading.

For those who have watch the Frozen Fever, Elsa was wearing a beautiful green gown but I still stick to her usual blue gown.

Elsa face make of rice + ketchup then shape it using cling wrap.
Elsa body make of rice + blue pea flower extract (boiled the blue pea flower with water)
Elsa hair make of egg sheet that I  freely penknife cut out.
Elsa face feature that I freehand scissor cut out nori for the eyes only, the rest use puncher
Snowflakes make of nori (puncher)

As for side dishes have broccoli, prawn, chicken nuggets, Korean strawberry and cherry.

I can't get good lighting or natural light from outdoor because all my bento was took indoor and early morning about 6.30am before send my kids to school. So far I will use additional light but the picture still don't turn out good quality =_=" If you wondering why don't I share tutorial for the making, sadly to said I don't have the time either to take pictures of it. Once woke up at 5.45am then start busy preparing my kids bento (Yes, I still pack lunch for my son).

Bento2015#Mar18~Cinderella Bento

Last weekend I brought my girl to watch Cinderella movie ^_^ Just the two of us! Felt so blessed to have a daughter to accompany me and leave my two men at home :D It was a nice movie and although we already knew the ending but still nice to watched at big screen!
Before the movie start has a short Frozen Fever trailer. My girl can't wait for the Frozen 2!!! She was super thrilled :D Looks like I need to make one Frozen Bento for her soon....

Here's the close up of Cinderella ^_^ I just make a simple one and she's look chuuby. Lol! Mix some tomato ketchup for face/body/hands/glass shoe (suppose to use white rice for the glass shoe but don't want to waste the balance rice so let it be) Blue rice is mix with blue pea flower extract. Decorate with nori details. I don't have butterfly puncher so I use clover puncher and scissor cut it half to make it as butterflies for Cinderella dress.

For side dishes have quail eggs as rats, pea sprout, gyoza, and carrot as pumpkin :) I pack along some grapes at smaller container (not in the picture).

I hope you like my Cinderella Bento. Have a lovely day ahead!

Bento2015#Mar17~Saint Patrick's Day

Today is Saint Patrick's Day ^_^ Although I don't celebrate this feast day but I tried to join in the fun of making bento each year. Click HERE for my last year St. Patrick's Hello Kitty post. Well, this year I try to make it as simple as possible since is Tuesday less food for my kids. I make use of the cookie cutter for decorate as clover and I can't find three-leaved shamrock cutter. But there are images shown at Google with four-leaved for this feast ^_^ So I guess still can be use right?

Here is the close up look of my clover. I stir-fried some organic spinach ramen and decorate the shamrock on top after filled up the ramen.

Side dishes have sausages, broccoli, grapes and Korean strawberry.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day for those who are celebrating this feast day! Hope you like my today's bento.

Bento2015#Mar16~BonbonRibbon Bento

I bought Bonbonribbon rice mould set during my Japan trip and silly me didn't know about it after looking for bento box yesterday =_=" Because my previous Bonbonribbon was done by hand shaping instead of rice mould. Well, this is my 2nd attempt and so much easier using the ready rice mould to shape out :)

As usual, to make pink rice just add some sakura denbu and mix with cooked rice. Make sure you wet the rice mould before shaping it. Remove it and add in the nori details. This round instead of crabstick or kamaboko, I use cheese and eggsheet for yellow touch.

For side dishes have sweet corn, milk cabbage, breaded chicken chop (cut into few slices), grapes, Korean strawberries and oranges.

I hope you like today's sharing and have a lovely Monday!

Bento2015#Mar10~Hello Kitty Pancake

I always want to try out making design pancake after saw some talented friends at my Instagram. If you have instagram or FB do check out "Bellchan_cooking_bento" awesome creations! I add the FB link HERE ^_^
Since is Tuesday with less foods so I decided to have making pancakes but what an ugly Hello Kitty =_=" Gosh..... I make four pieces but end up only one presentable :p  I think the strawberry Kitty-chan much more prettier! Hahaha...

So long have not make this strawberry Hello Kitty with apple inside. If you have the semi-circle curve tools can easily scoop out the apple and strawberry. Just remove the strawberry then add the apple. Very easy! Lastly add in nori for the details.

As for Hello Kitty pancake, I'm sure some of you can see some tutorial from youtube how make. Just add some of the pancake mixture with cocoa powder. I pour the brown mixture to a sauce bottle so that I can draw out the design. Sorry that I don't have time to do the picture tutorial because all of my bento lunch did it early morning with limited time. No camera man to help me hahaha

Anyway, I put some kaya jam at the sauce container for her to spread pancakes. Have a lovely day!

Bear Buns recipe from Hippomum

I hardly have the mood to bake bread =_=" But today while go through Hippomum's recipe book I saw this simple bread recipes so I decided to give a try :) Luckily I have all the ingredients at home so start kneading..... haha.... I didn't know that to make a dough need so much time :p  So many steps to go until I stressed out of my dough will fail or didn't rise double of the size!  The recipe comes with step by step (in Chinese words) pictures so is easy to follow :)

Well,  at least I've tried and perhaps will wait for another good mood to do the 2nd attempt. Lol!

If you have Hippomum's 2nd recipe book can easily spot the page of a bear burger. So here is my simple Bear Bun, just to make it pretty due to my bread not as smooth as Hippomum ^_^

Simple add cheese/nori/sausage/ketchup for the bear details. As for the pink bow is actually Hello Kitty soft candy.

To view the 2nd recipe by Hippomum just click HERE to visit her blog. I hope you will like today's sharing. Happy Weekend!

Bento2015#Mar05~Moomin Bento

This is my first attempt of making Moomin Characters ^_^ I know my daughter will prefer female Moomin or girlfriend? So I google search the images and make one for her lunch. Instead of Mama Moomin I make Snorkmaiden instead ^_^ Is Moomin's fair lady friend. Part of it, I want to match my newly bought Moomin fork during my Japan trip :) Will try to make "Little My" too! One of my to-do lists! Finger-cross*

Here is the close up Snorkmaiden, Moomin's fair lady friend and I miss putting her golden hair after I add the red bibbon =_=" Suppose to add in after the pick but I continue adding the ketchup for cheeks and necklace. Oh well, at least I didn't miss her eyelashes! Hahaha...
Snorkmaiden make of chicken ham and nori for details.
As for the rice is not fried rice. I just mix the rice with furikake for flavour.

For side dishes have fishballs, pea sprouts, grapes and Korean strawberry.

Hope you like today's post and have a happy Thursday!
