Today is Happy Mid-Autumn Festival ^_^ Honestly speaking my family don't celebrate or buy mooncakes for this festival :p Now my son have grown up, he prefers to watch his TV programme instead of playing lanterns with his sister last night!!! End up my poor girl didn't play cause she wants her brother to accompany instead of me =_="
Well, since didn't get to play and this year I hardly make Mid-Autumn Festival bento....guess this will be the only bento compare to last year :D
Little food for today's bento since the school will have celebration. I made Miffy (quail eggs) plays lantern (kamaboko). Underneath the inari is rice. For side dishes: Minced beef, broccoli, pea sprouts, cheese as moon and some kamaboko as flower for decoration. I add few mini grapes as well on top of the broccoli. Punch out bunny nori using puncher (not freehand).
Simple Miffy Bento for this year Happy Mid-Autumn Festival Bento. Hope you will like it and wish you all who celebrate "Happy Mid-Autumn 中秋节快乐"

Bento#Sept19~Hello Kitty as Chang-Er
To made Chang-Er: Shape the rice as onigiri and add nori for hair. The top curl hair I did a similar bento before at HERE. To made the top curl hair, just roll two long rice wrap with nori then bend it as "U" shape. This time I add too much rice so didn't turn out what I wanted.....well, I'm sorry that I don't have the time to do the tutorial due to my bento was done in early morning and all I do was racing with the time =_=". I hope you can get the idea of making it!
To made Chang-Er body: Rice mixed with Mizhan Pink Sushi mix (found that I still have one more new pack!!) Just shape as a dress and add one small round onigiri for Kitty-chan hand :) Freehand nori cut and add to the hand for better result.
White rabbit: Made of oval shape fishball, I add two ears and punch out nori for rabbit face.
For hair accessories: carrot, cheese and fondants. As for long hair also nori and cheese.
At the bottom of Chang-Er was minced sweet pork and stir-fried french beans with mushroom as well carrots. Prepared some fruits at another small food container. So here is my Hello Kitty as Chang-Er Bento lunch. I do hope you find it CUTE and if you like it can always share it ^_^ Once again I wish those who are celebrating this festival "Happy Blessed Mid-Autumn" good health and wealth! Cherish one another every moment with your loved ones ^_^ Hugs!

Bento#Sept18~Bunny Eating Mooncakes
Today's lunch bento is about bunny eating mooncakes ^_^ Just one more day will be Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! All I could think was bunny, fullmoon, mooncakes, lantern and ChangEr! Oh....I think my next bento will be Chang Er since last year I've made ChangEr! Here is my last year ChangEr Bento if you have not seen. Alright, back to today's theme. Instead of real mooncakes, I made rice mooncakes and is strawberry snowskin & green tea snowskin!! Haha.... I even cut one slice of the mooncake to show the yolk! Lol...too bad the pink rice I mixed with Mizkan sushi pink left little bit so the colour too plain :(
Here is closer look of the bunny onigiri and snowskin mooncake :p Underneath I add thin layer of rice and cover with nori. Inari skin at the corner as table and add snowskin mooncake on top ^_^ To made the mooncake, I use mooncake mould to shape the rice and pressed out Hello Kitty face but not clear so I use Hello Kitty puncher to punch out the nori and add on top. Inside the rice mooncake, I actually mixed two different colour! Again the green inner colour didn't stand out =_=" Oh well....not to waste time, I use cutter to cut out the cheese for fullmoon and freehand cut out the cloud using toothpick.
*Green tea mooncake actually is rice mixed with green furikake ^_^
For side dishes, I reheat leftover ginger chicken, few slices of oranges, imitation squid roll with carrot and cucumber. I hope you will like today's theme bento lunch ^_^ Cheers!
