Here is the close up three different carps ^_^
  • White rice for white carp
  • White rice plus broccoli on top for green carp
  • Yellow rice (egg yolk mix with rice) for yellow carp
  • Cheese and nori for the details
For side dishes have broccoli, salmon with sweet sauce coating and grapes.

I bought the two tier (Oyako Kingyo) lunch box from Bento & Co for quite some times. It's perfect for today's theme ^_^ Hope you like it!

Today in Japan country celebrate Children's Day こどもの日 Kodomo no Hi festival although I'm not in Japan but still like to create one bento each year ^_^ Click HERE & HERE to view my last year creation.

Today, I chose Rilakkuma & Friends to join in this joyous festival! I did a sketched last night so that I won't waste time :) To matched this theme, I used Oyako Kingyo Bento box since is about fish and I liked this two different sizes goldfish bento boxes ^_^ Is like big bento box MAMA & the small bento box BABY.

For small Oyako Kingyo bento box, I made from Rilakkuma inarizushi, just add nori & cheese and of course must add Kabuto (Japanese Military Helmet) I folded last night :) Lastly, add some rock melons!

As for big Oyako Kingyo bento box, I filled some rice at half portion and decorate the Koinobori (carp streamer) on top.
  • Korilakkuma : imitation squid roll (surimi chikuwa)
  • Rilakkuma : sausage, nori
  • Kiiroitori : tamagoyaki, carrot, nori

This afternoon I baked Mexico Bread. Gosh....wasn't easy and I don't think successful =_=" But still turn out good taste after my son ate and he said yummy ^_^ Luckily tomorrow is a Public Holiday!! I can sleep longer n have a good REST!! My body seems tired and slightly feverish again....my hubby scolded me why I still do house chores and baking!!!! Can't I just REST!!! Haha.....got scolded :p
Anyway, here is my first attempt baking Mexico Bread. I followed the recipe book and I don't know where gone wrong....I think need to practice more but wait I fully recover first :D To made the pictures nice, I added some face expression!
A closer look of the bread. I add cheese for eyes and mouth then freehand cut out nori to stick on it as BEAR.
The carp streamer was cheese bun (bought from bakery shop). I cut the tail and pressed the cheese bun to fit in the box. Add cheese/nori for eye and used cutter to cut cheese scales. Lastly, add strawberry, marshmallows and mini sweet cake. Simple Bear Japan Children's Day theme bento snack. Hope you all will like it! Cheers!
