Let's have Cha-soba for lunch ^_^ So which Sanrio character that is "Green"? Yes it is "Keroppi" :D All you have to do just prepare the dishes and arrange it neatly to make Keroppi character.

Other than cha-soba, I also mix some charcoal soba for extra touch :p Keroppi eyes make of hard boiled egg (white) and nori. Red cheeks make of crabstick.

For side dishes have pea sprouts, flower cheese sausage that you can click HERE for tutorial and mandarin oranges. Some soy sauce for the soba at the froggy sauce bottle.

I hope you like this simple Keroppi Bento ^_^

Flower Sausage Tutorial

I manage to snap few shots for the sausage step by step. This is using half of the sausage to create a flower. It also apply to whole sausage with the same step to create another flower patterns. Click HERE to visit my flower bento using whole sausage. For this half sausage, I follow the steps from one of the Japanese Sausage Book that I purchased during my Japan trips. To view the "Lion Bento" click HERE ^_^

  • Boil the sausage and after cooked just cut into half.

  • Use knife to cut each gap in 1cm or less. Is up to you and make sure the gap line not near to each other.
  •  After you have cut the lines will look like the above photo.

  • Turn into circle to get flower design.

Bento#June19~Flower Sausage Bento

Today's lunch suppose to made makisushi but it didn't turn out well so need to let them hide underneath the flower sausage ^_^ Haha....I felt like Plan A failed...still have Plan B!!!
I'm not the expert of making complicated sausage designed! Simple ones I know but this flower sausage idea was learned from a Japanese book. I add crabroll in the middle to cover the holes after turn the sausage into flower and secure with spaghetti strip. Next, I punch the nori for smiley face using puncher ^_^ Carrot as roses and sweet peas at the sides.
You may noticed that the close up flower sausage above photo without adding a ribbon pick :p I actually missed out until when I took some photos only realized! My daughter will likes it whenever making any character bento by adding the ribbon pick meaning is a GIRL ^_^ Well, I hope you will like this flower sausage bento lunch. I will try to do the tutorial photos when I'm free or if you can't wait....may just look out for the Japanese (all about Sausage designed) book at Kinokuniya Bookstore :) I bought the book during my Japan trips ^_^ Cheers!

Bento#April25~Spring Flower Theme Bento

Today's lunch I made Spring Flower theme bento as I wanted to try out making rose flower from cherry tomato so I thought it will be great to have lots of FLOWER in today's lunch ^_^ When I do my decoration....seem that I add too much!! Hope you won't find it too complicated! Hehe....
I cooked macaroni pasta with cheese then pour to the bento box. I made two onigiri and put on top of the macaroni. To made the onigiri blossom flower, I used cutter to cut crabstick then arranged it on top. Add lettuce around the onigiri and finished all the decoration. To made the rose flower, I cut out cherry tomato skin then followed the circular movement to made.
As for another container, I put the sweet corn into food cup then decorate it with open sweet pea and another rose tomato. Cut out kamaboko and also made tamagoyaki. I also add sausages but already covered by the tamagoyaki and kiwi slices.
I hope you will this Spring Flower Theme bento ^_^ Have a great day and I will post my Pasta bento later.
