Bento2015#Mar18~Cinderella Bento

Last weekend I brought my girl to watch Cinderella movie ^_^ Just the two of us! Felt so blessed to have a daughter to accompany me and leave my two men at home :D It was a nice movie and although we already knew the ending but still nice to watched at big screen!
Before the movie start has a short Frozen Fever trailer. My girl can't wait for the Frozen 2!!! She was super thrilled :D Looks like I need to make one Frozen Bento for her soon....

Here's the close up of Cinderella ^_^ I just make a simple one and she's look chuuby. Lol! Mix some tomato ketchup for face/body/hands/glass shoe (suppose to use white rice for the glass shoe but don't want to waste the balance rice so let it be) Blue rice is mix with blue pea flower extract. Decorate with nori details. I don't have butterfly puncher so I use clover puncher and scissor cut it half to make it as butterflies for Cinderella dress.

For side dishes have quail eggs as rats, pea sprout, gyoza, and carrot as pumpkin :) I pack along some grapes at smaller container (not in the picture).

I hope you like my Cinderella Bento. Have a lovely day ahead!

Elsa Frozen Food Art

Today blog post I'm going to post my last night dinner food art for my daughter ^_^ I won't be posting or making bento for next week since is their school break. So I thought of making food art instead :) Yesterday I made Olaf bento lunch and dinner time, I surprised her the leading character for Frozen.....who else?? Elsa!! The most tough part was Elsa's hairstyle =_=" Am lucky that I don't have to make Elsa bento for her school lunch cause I think won't be able to finish on time :D

Here is the close up Elsa ^_^ Last night dinner I cooked chicken rice so Elsa's face/body made from chicken rice :p Her pretty blue gown was mixed with some blue pea flower juice. To made her hair, I just freely cut out the crabstick (white) using small knife and add nori for the details so it bring out nicely with tone! For Elsa face details also freehand scissor cut out by looking at the picture (luckily didn't look weird without trace on baking paper).

Simple dinner dishes: Stir fry veggies with shimeji mushroom, honey soy sauce drumettes (recipe from JustOneCookBook), corn potato carrot soup and cheese as snowflakes :) By the way, do you notice the special effect light that shine from the cheese snowflake near Elsa hand? Haha....photo was taken during evening hour so that light was from table light and it turned out pretty good right?

I hope you will like my cute Elsa Frozen version ^_^ Have a great coming weekend! Cheers!

Bento#Oct10~Prince + Princess Sibling Kyaraben

Inspired by Hippomum's 75 types of Bento book ‘你也可以轻松做的爱心便当75种’ (pg:57) ^_^ This time I choose to made Prince + Princess Kyaraben!!! I know my daughter will like this theme especially will tell me that she's the Princess and her brother is the Prince ^_^ So I shall name it "Prince + Princess Sibling" Kyaraben.
So let's meet my Prince Kyaraben first! Shape tomato rice into a ball using cling wrap then add eggsheet for the Prince golden hair ^_^ I like to highlight the hair with some tone so I add nori hair lines :p The tiny white balls are fondant (bought from bakery shop). My Prince charming holds a bouquet of flowers!
Same method for making my Princess Kyaraben :) Just play around with the eggsheet to made some hair styling for the princess!
Side dishes: Stir-fried 奶白(Tiny Chinese cabbage), Gyoza and checker apple. *Flower carrots*
I hope you will like this Royal Theme bento 'Prince + Princess' Kyaraben. Cheers!

Bento#April16A~Tangled Rapunzel

My girl showed me her Princess Activity book that I bought for her quite some times. She requested Tangled Rapunzel for her bento snack!! Oh well, I managed to followed Rapunzel from the activity book but I'm not quite satisfy with the result =_='' Perhaps due to the mouth and eyes but my girl was totally amazed with her bento!! It melts my heart to hear her praising Rapunzel so pretty!!
As usual I traced out Rapunzel image to baking sheet then trim out her face and body. Then put on top of the cheese and finished all the details with freehand scissor cut nori. To made the green eyes, I crushed green fondants and spread to the cheese. Using the same method for pink lips. The activity picture showed with her smiling teeth but after I made.....hmm...she doesn't looked good! I can't do it properly for her smiling teeth so I changed to smile lip without the teeth! Haha....
As for her long hair, I prepare egg sheet and freehand penknife cut out and finished all the small details. Lastly, add pretty flower picks for her golden long hair. Underneath Rapunzel will be peanut butter sandwich.
Some grapes, honey cherry tomato and strawberry cheese. I hope you will like this more to mature looking Rapunzel compare to the activity book more cute and lovely ^_^ Cheers!

Bento#March26A~Princess Jasmine

Meet Princess Jasmine ^_^ Is she pretty? I attracted by this Jasmine looked so going to made it for my girl bento snack!
A closer looked of the Princess Jasmine ^_^ As usual freehand cut out all the nori details! But first I draw the picture on the baking sheet then scissor cut out, after cut lay on top of cheese and used toothpick to followed then trim out. Next used back the same baking sheet after trim out the cheese to cut nori (Jasmine's hair) then paste on top of the trim out Jasmine cheese. Next will be freehand nori cutting paste here and there :p To get the brown eyes, I used boiled seaweed and freehand cut out small circle then put on top of the light cheese. For pink touch, I used kamaboko and freehand cut out the rest of the details....as you can see most of it were tiny details so only freehand cutting....gosh....
Underneath Princess Jasmine, I prepared peanut butter sandwich. I used oval shape cutter to cut out boiled seaweed to made flowers and add pink circle on top. Other sides will be honey cherry tomatoes, grapes and marshmallows.
I took different angle for Princess Jasmine :p
I hope you will like my Princess Series bento and will continue the rest of princesses....hehe Cheers!

Bento#March11~Princess Ariel

Back to school again!!! Anyone like The Little Mermaid story tales? Here I made "Princess Ariel" bento snack for my darling girl ^_^ Spend quite some time for Princess Ariel red hair and the nori outlines!!!
Butter and kaya toast sandwich underneath Princess Ariel. Some marshmallows, waffles cracker and mandarin oranges.
To made Princess Ariel, I traced her face to baking sheet and trim out. Then lay on top of cheese and follow the trim out by using toothpick to cut. Next, freehand cut out the nori details part....I did the eyes first and add eyelashes onto it. Slowly add the rest of the details :) Due to fine outlines so I need to cut very fine and it was pretty challenging & need lots of patients! The next challenging part was her red hair! I used crab stick and penknife cut out to made her hair. Layer by layer with some overlapping here and there until it looks natural. Lastly I add the nori for hair details. Pictures that I looked at Princess Ariel wears bikini blue top but I changed and continue used back the crab stick :p
I hope you will like my Princess Ariel bento snack ^_^ Do share with me so far which princess you like the most!! Thank you and cheers!

Bento#Feb29~Princess Belle

I'm making Princess Belle for bento snack. This is my favourite Princess since my childhood :) Do share with me which is your favourite Princess!!
I traced out Princess Belle picture onto baking sheet. Princess Belle face made from cheese as I find it better than ham. One day will design the Princess Cinderella again ^_^ After cut out the face, I put on bread skin as my girl really liked this part of bread. Underneath the bread skin, I put two cupcakes. Next, arranged the brown hair made of egg sheet (eggwhite mixed with dark sweet sauce and some corn starch). Yellow gown egg sheet as well (egg yolk mixed with some starch). The rest of the details as usual freehand scissor cut out nori and paste. White eyeballs were fondants and the lips was cheese mixed with red fondant. Pink heart fondants for ribbon.
Lastly, arranged some strawberries, marsmallows and Hello Kitty candy pack. I hope you will like Princess Belle bento ^_^ Looks like I still have few more Princesses to make.....gambateh!!! Cheers!

Bento#Feb25~Princess Cinderella

My girl already can't wait for me to design another princess!!! Gosh.....hope you still like to see my princess theme bento ^_^ This time instead of using light cheese as face, I try out chicken ham. After done all the eyes details....Cinderella looks weird to me but I'm too tired to redo or change to light cheese =_=" Underneath the princess was red bean bun. Next to the bun have marshmallow, korea strawberry and box of raisin.
I draw Princess Cinderella on baking sheet then used scissor to cut out the egg sheet for hair by tracing the outline together with baking sheet. Put the face baking sheet on top of cooked chicken ham and used pen knife to cut. After done, I combine the hair and face together then lay on top of bbq cheese. Next, the tiny details for eyes!!! Gosh.....looks easy but I took quite some time to freehand trim the nori, The white part was crab stick, used scissor to cut as well the blue eggsheet. The white balls were fondants and the lips was crab stick. I cut; paste then stick here and there......until I skipped adding arms for her!!! Argh.....losing my patient after sticking cause the arms kept dropping even I spread mayo or add tiny cheese!!! Seem was due to bun, if is sandwich won't be a problem. Oh well, still not too bad right? Sorry for it :p
Well, I have done 3 princesses for my bento picture album collection!! Princess Aurora, Princess Snow White and today Princess Cinderella ^_^ Few more princesses to make.....gambateh!!! Thank you for reading my blog and hope you will like my Cinderella bento snack!! Cheers!

Bento#Feb23~Princess Snow White

You've seen my Princess Aurora and now I'm making Princess Snow White ^_^ I need to used up my egg sheets so for bento snack can spend some time on it. This time, I draw Snow White on baking sheet :) Underneath Princess Snow White prepared sandwich with nutella spread. To make sure the bread nicely fit in the bento, just used the bento box as mold to cut the bread.
Light cheese as Snow White face but first scissors cut out the nori followed by the traced picture for hair. After cut out the hair put on top of the light cheese. Next freehand cut out the eyebrows and the rest of the details. The blue eyeballs also freehand cut out from egg sheet. Add in the crab stick for white part and finished with nori for details. The lips, I used crab stick red part and scissor cut as well and add the nori. After done all the face details, slowly used toothpick to follow the shape to cut out and add on top of the sandwich. Lastly, I add in the blue dress for Snow White and add in crab stick for details of the dress. The white collar, I used crab stick and add some nori strips, due to the background was white so need to stand out the dress. For her ribbon, I add ribbon pick and just freehand cut the crab stick for red strips.
I hope you will understand how I made this Snow White character as I don't have the time to take pictures of step by step :p
Some grapes and marshmallows for her and add cute flower/bees picks! Hope you will like Princess Snow White too! Cheers!

Bento#Feb22~Princess Aurora

Among all the princess, my girl likes Princess Aurora the most as well Sleeping Beauty story tales ^_^ So I'm going to make her happy when she see her bento snack!!
I cooked some eggyolk sheet and the eggwhite mixed with corn starch and blue food coloring as I need to make blue eyes for Princess Aurora. Freehand using toothpick trim out the face shape from light cheese and used pen knife to cut out the eggsheet as hair. Well, not really looked alike Princess Aurora as I didn't trace from the picture using baking sheet....I skipped the step of tracing :p Freehand cut nori for eyelashes and nose. The lips was cheese mixed with red crashed fondant. I didn't make pink egg sheet for princess dress so I used the blue egg sheet instead. The white eyeballs were fondant too! Underneath te Princess Aurora, I prepared peanut butter sandwich and added colorful fondants.
Some grapes and honey cherry tomato. I hope you will liked my Princess Aurora bento snack ^_^ Cheers!
