Bento2014#May08~Kyoto Tower Plushies

Today's bento post will be these two kawaii Kyoto Tower Plushies ^_^ I bought four plushies but made two designed out of it cause my Magewappa Bento box not enough space :D Don't they looked adorable?? My kids loved it so much when we visited Kyoto Tower before headed back to Osaka.

Shape the rice into three different methods. First, I wrap with nori to made the stem (Tower Antena), secondly shape the white rice and combine the black antena. Lastly, mixed the rice with tomato ketchup and shape it into onigiri and finished with nori details.

Another expression and repeat the same methods but the eyes, I use cheese and freehand scissor cut out the nori.

Underneath both plushies onigiri, I add quail eggs to support ^_^

For side dishes: Broccoli, carrots, slice of lemon and soy sauce drumettes.

I hope will like today's Kyoto Tower Plushies. Happy Thursday!

Bento2014#May07~Mother's Day KakaoTalk Perytail

Today's bento lunch inspired by KakaoTalk Perytail emoticon. Perytail looks simple so I decided to make Mother's Day theme for the upcoming occasion. I wanted to add "I <3 MUM" but seem not enough space for it so change to "I <3 U" :D

Underneath the eggsheet with lots of love, I add rice so that my daughter will have enough rice to eat ^_^ To made this eggsheet, just cook it normal but before the egg cooked I add red heart shape (crabstick) on top while the egg still wet. Turn off the heat and let it rest till cooked. I didn't flip over the egg that's why the top eggsheet still shiny ^_^

For Kakaotalk Perytail, I shape the rice using cling wrap then freehand scissor cut out nori for the details. Lastly, I penknife cut out the eggsheet as triangle shape for Perytail to hold a bouquet of heart shape flowers.

For side dishes: Baby Pak choy or Nai bai, chicken stew (lastnight dinner), chicken stew sauce at the sauce container and some eggsheet for decoration :) Lastly, add the picks!

Well, this bento not only for Mother's Day, also suitable for Valentine's Day too! Haha....no matter what, is all about showing LOVE. I hope you like today's bento post. Hugs & Kisses!!

Bento2014#May06~Domo-kun Prata

It's Tuesday and as usual less food for my daughter ^_^ Ever since I let her bring roti prata for the passed Tuesday....she loved it and wants it every Tuesday :D Now this will make me headache what to create? hahaha....

Oh well, so this 3rd creation I made Domo-kun. I tried to made it as simple as possible. Just three ingredients: Roti prata/canai, apple & sugar

Carved the apple as leave and since I have plenty of time, I play along the carved tools.....so I made another designed. I tried to carved flower and didn't work well :p Next to the apple, I add sugar to monbento sauce conatiner.

Two pieces of roti prata inside Monbento bento box. I carved apple for Domo-kun big mouth and freehand scissor cut out nori for eyes.

Simple and quick bento. I hope you like it and have a nice Tuesday!

Bento2014#May05~Children's Dayこどもの日Kodomo no Hi

Today in Japan country celebrate Children's Day こどもの日 Kodomo no Hi festival although I'm not in Japan but still like to create one bento each year ^_^ Click HERE & HERE to view my last year creation.

Today, I chose Rilakkuma & Friends to join in this joyous festival! I did a sketched last night so that I won't waste time :) To matched this theme, I used Oyako Kingyo Bento box since is about fish and I liked this two different sizes goldfish bento boxes ^_^ Is like big bento box MAMA & the small bento box BABY.

For small Oyako Kingyo bento box, I made from Rilakkuma inarizushi, just add nori & cheese and of course must add Kabuto (Japanese Military Helmet) I folded last night :) Lastly, add some rock melons!

As for big Oyako Kingyo bento box, I filled some rice at half portion and decorate the Koinobori (carp streamer) on top.
  • Korilakkuma : imitation squid roll (surimi chikuwa)
  • Rilakkuma : sausage, nori
  • Kiiroitori : tamagoyaki, carrot, nori

I hope you like today's Japan Children's Day post ^_^ Happy Monday!

I can't helped it to took one more picture of the Oyako Kingyo Bento box before let my daughter bring to school ^_^

Homecooked Hello Kitty Meal

Opps....I made Hello Kitty Inari again for today's dinner meal. Hope you won't bored to see ^_^ Actually I didn't plan to made any foodart for dinner but I just want to try out the HK silicon mould (bought during Bangkok trips) to steam eggs. The steamed eggs turned out pretty good except some bubbles on it =_=" I didn't follow any recipes but just cook my usual normal style (lazy style) Hahaha.....so if you like to try out just simply follow your recipes ^_^

Here's the close up steamed eggs ^_^ Do you notice two different colours? Three darker yellow and the other three light yellow :p This is due to I use two types of eggs! Why so troublesome? Because I thought beat two eggs can filled up all 6 silicon moulds!! I'm so naive :D That's the reason I took another two normal eggs (run out of kampung/village eggs). The top part was smooth after steamed but flip over the HK faces have bubbles :( Perhaps you can enlighten me if you know the reason. Thanks in advance!

More closer looked from the plate ^_^ So sad to see Hello Kitty face lots of bubbles :(
Underneath the steamed eggs, I stir-fried Bok Choy veggies with fresh button mushrooms.

Simple Hello Kitty Inari, this time I use rice mould to shape instead of cling wrap. Ribbon and flower made from apples and the nose made from steamed egg by just using the cutter to cut out. Punch out nori for the details and freehand scissor cut out the eye lashes ^_^

It's seafood day for my family on every Friday so I cooked simple prawn & baby squids with tomato paste :)

Ta-da.....Homecooked Hello Kitty Dinner Meal for today's post! I hope you like it and happy weekend ^_^ Cheers!
