Bento2016#May13~Panda/Snoopy/Sheep/Puppy

09.05.16 (Monday)

Panda cuddles
My belated Mother's Day bento "Mama Panda & Baby Pandas" I simply followed the panda lunch box cover design ^_^ Pretty easy by cutting the nori detailed and filled up all the rice. Baby pandas made out of quail eggs and nori detailed. This time I added red ribbon pick for female pandas :) As for side dishes have prawns and pea sprouts.

10.05.16 (Tuesday)

Peanuts Snoopy & Woodstock
On Tuesday, I made a quick and easy bento for Snoopy & Woodstock. As you can see from the above photo that Snoopy was made of rice (filled up all) Freehand scissor cut out nori detailed and Woodstock made out of egg sheet with nori detailed as well. I added some broccoli on top of Woodstock to let it stand out more better. At another container, I prepared one piece of chicken katsu cut into few bite size, broccoli, honey cherry tomato and some seedless grapes.

11.05.16 (Wednesday)

Sheep Bento
 Baa baa..... white sheep bento for my daughter's Wednesday lunch box. I mixed little bit of dark sweet sauce with rice for the sheep face/ears. The fur made out of cauliflower that I filled up on top of the rice. Freehand scissor cut out the nori detailed and how I wished my eyelashes can be as long as the sheep lashes :p Side dishes have gyoza, carrots and oranges.

12.05.16 (Thursday)

Puppies sausages
 On Thursday, I cooked simple stir-fried noodles for her lunch and add on sausages on top into puppies designed. Puppies ears made out of oval shaped fishballs and nori for all the face detailed. All the tiny flowers were cut out from the crabstick and side dishes have baby bok choy (chinese cabbage) and slices of orange

Bento2016#Apr29~Panda/Birthday/Tuxedosam/Marie

25.04.16 (Monday)

Panda Sushi
Ooh....little disappointed on my panda sushi while arranged and rolled :( Sadly that panda mouth didn't turned out well in placed so I cheated by added nori as well the panda eyes :D I tried out using panda sushi mould to shaped the sushi and looks like I failed.....oh well, no time to redo so just did a quick snapped of photos.
Pan-fried slamon and spinach for side dishes.

26.04.16 (Tuesday)

12th Birthday Girl Bento
 Yeay! It's my darling daughter 12th years old birthday on 26th April 2016 ^_^ I made a birthday girl blows the birthday cake candles! I shaped the girl face and hands by mixing the rice with some ketchup for orange touched. Add on the nori for the detailed. Placed the head onto the lunch box and filled up broccoli for dress. Covered up the rest with rice and I  continued arranged the fish tofu as birthday cake. The candles made of toasted spaghetti and the yellow part of the fish tofu as lights. 
Prawn gyoza and quail eggs at another small container.

27.04.16 (Wednesday)

Sanrio Tuxedo Sam
 Simple designed for this Sanrio character ~ Tuxedo Sam ~ This round I didn't mixed the rice with blue pea flower extract first but just add on the juice using the flowers to dap on top of the rice for the blue touched. Leave the white part for Tuxedosam. Cheese for mouth and nori for eyes. The sailor hat made of fishball and nori. 
Stir-fried okra, pan-fried chicken nuggets, samosa yams and some grapes.

28.04.16 (Thursday)

Disney Marie
 While looking at my cutters and spotted this Disney Marie cat that I don't think I've created before so here it was my first attempt of Marie Bento ^_^ It was pretty easy by using the cookie cutter as outline and I just filled up the rice and add-on the nori detailed. Freehand scissor cut out the nori detailed as I'm lazy to penknive traced out by drawing on the baking paper :p 
Stir-fried potatoes, carrots and meat, spinach, red cabbage and sweet pea for side dishes.

14.03.2016 Monday
Panda: Rice and seaweed nori detailed.
Baby panda: Quail eggs and seaweed nori detailed.
Side dishes: Pea sprouts, gyoza, oranges

15.03.2016 Tuesday
I cooked simple fried rice for her lunch and only add Kiiroitori for the half boiled egg as theme bento ^_^ 
 
16.03.2016 Wednesday
Do you like Disney Eeyore? It's been awhile have not make Eeyore :p 
Blue rice: Mixed rice with blue pea flower extract and add nori for the detailed.
Orange rice: Mixed rice with ketchup
To shape: I used cling wrap and shaped into Eeyore (head and two ears)
Side dishes: Broccoli, gyoza, oranges and fishballs
 
16.03.2016 Thursday
My girl requested to eat Japanese Curry for her lunch ^_^ In my Japanese curry have chicken in bite size, carrots and potatoes.
Piggies: Mixed the rice with ketchup since I don't have Sakura Denbu for pink color.
Side dishes: Pea sprouts and tamagoyaki

Bento2016#Feb19~Back to school bento

GongXiFaCai! Still in CNY moods and kids back to school this week ^_^ I'm back to my bento routine....yawn* Hopefully I can continue maintain my blog and one day when my kids grown up will bring back the sweet memories <3

Day 1: 15/2/16 (Monday)

Lots of PANDAS
After one week of bento break, I always will think of panda due to sleepy and dark circle :D So here I shaped the panda with cling wrap instead of using panda rice mould. Freehand scissor cut out the panda nori details and quite easy even though not using the panda rice mould set. Give it a try if you don't have any panda rice mould set. 
For side dishes have broccoli, half of the hard boiled egg (another half for my son's bento), panda chicken wrapped and some carrots. 

Day 2: 16/02/2016 (Tuesday)

Bear Mashed Potatoes
 I cooked some soba noodles (bought at organic store) that my girl requested. To make my bento cute, I added the mashed potatoes shaped as bear. Freehand scissor cut out the nori eyes and punched out the mouth detailed. Lastly, I added some cute food picks to let it stands out.

Day 3: 17/02/2016 (Wednesday)

Bonbonribbon Vs. My Melody
On this day I made Bonbon ribbon vs My Melody since my girl loves both of these Sanrio characters. Wonder which characters you like the most among these two? To made the rice pink, I added pink sakura denbu (bought local store that selling Japan goods). Immitation crabstick for the ribbon/flower. As for side dishes have drummets, pea sprouts and mashed potatoes (top coat with mayo and parsley flakes).

Day 4: 18/02/16 (Thursday)

Lots of HELLO KITTY
Bought another type of noodles from organic store. It's pumpkin noodles ^_^ This is simple designed and pretty easy to prepared. Hello Kitty face features made of kambu, carrots for flower and ribbon (I used hello kitty cutter). Some broccoli to made the divider, gyozas and tangerines with little touched up with nori :)

Bento2016#Jan05~Mofy Bunny

I'm back to my bento routine because my kids school reopen today after 3 weeks term break ^_^ This year 2016 I think I'll blog less and might just share it once awhile here as I don't think I've enough time to update =_=" Not sure how many readers will miss my blog but think is time to spend more time with my family :) Good news is I'll share my bento post at Instagram and FB page since I don't have to spend time typing.....hahaha

Well, back to today's 1st year 2016 lunch box I make for my girl. As per requested by her that she saw this cute fluffy Mofy Bunny from last night TV episodes. I did some reading about Mofy and came to know it actually from a best-seller books by Ami Kondo (click HERE).
 
A closer look of my cute "MOFY" bunny make of rice balls ^_^ I don't have kamaboko for the pink touch so I use mini sausage instead for the heart shaped details :p Freehand scissor cut out the nori details! Ketchup for cheeks.
 
As for side dishes have pea sprouts, pan-fried pork katsu and some grapes.

Bento2015#Dec03~Puppy Pasta Bento

Woof woof! Simple puppy tomato shell pasta for her lunch bento ^_^ This is pretty easy to prepare by adding the face features and you can create different animals. I choose puppy since I've not make one quite some time :p
 
A close up puppy shell pasta and I mix some macaroni as well. Taiwanese sausage for puppy ears and tongue. Cheese and nori for face details.

Tomato paste with some button mushroom at the container. I add one whole hard boiled egg and add paw print nori on top. Lastly some oranges for dessert.

Bento2015#Nov19~Lots of BEAR

Some thing simple and quick bento lunch for her ^_^ No special character but I just add on the face features and no idea what it looks like.... more to a bear perhaps :p  What do you think?

To create yellow rice balls, simply add some hard boil egg yolk to the rice. Mix well and shape them up using cling wraps. Punch out nori details and create into different expressions ^_^ 

First arrange the pea sprouts & enokitake into the silicon cup then only arrange all the rice ball along the side. Spam meat for side dishes and ketchup at sauce container.

Bento2015#Nov02~Panda Onigiri Bento

Panda onigiri anyone? Simple and yet looks little foods for my girl lunch box ^_^ Well, she will have a short tea break around 9:30am before her lunch and sometime during the lunch break, students required to go for reading program so basically she requested less foods. 

A closer look of the panda onigiri. Freehand scissor cut out the nori details and arrange all pandas on top of the canned baked beans. 

For side dishes have baked cheese potato, Japanese cucumber and stir-fried chicken fillets with ginger.

Bento2015#Oct21~Bon Bon Ribbon Bento

My girl requested Bon Bon Ribbon character for her bento ^_^ So what usually most mother will do or perhaps father (that make bento) surely try our best right? 

I cook some macaroni for their lunch and I make Bon Bon Ribbon out of rice using rice mould. Save me a lot of time :D

Here's the close up Bon Bon Ribbon. I mix the rice with some sakura denbu for pink touch and cut out the crabstick using the provided cutter from Bon Bon Ribbon rice mould set :) Nori for the details.

For the side dishes have oven homebaked chicken fillets, spring roll with some mayo on top.

Bento2015#Oct08~Caring Bear Bento

Some thing cute for her lunch instead of continue making Halloween theme ^_^ This round I will make a brown bear that likes sea creatures (using food picks). It's easy to make your theme bento by adding few cute picks! Think about it, I hardly use lots of food picks for my bento nowadays.... unless is the ribbon picks :D 

Here's the closer look of my brown bear make of rice onigiri coat with chicken floss. Nori for the details! Arrange the bear first then slowly cover up the rest of the dishes (baby cabbage, carrots, ginger chicken, quail eggs and grapes)

I hope you like today's sharing and guess what? Next week is my kids school one week break not because of the bad haze but mid term break =_=" Anyway, I might have time spending on baking....hehehe.....

Bento2015#Sep29~Lazy Panda Bento

Due to the bad weather (haze) that no school for today and I got the free time to update my yesterday bento lunch ^_^ Not sure whenever comes to Monday, I will make some thing like lazy and sleep bento :D So Panda bento pop to up and this round I don't shape with cling wrap but I used panda rice mould instead.

A closer look of the panda and mini quail egg panda ^_^ Simply use panda rice mould to shape up the rice and finish with nori details (freehand scissor cut) So easy right by using the rice mould :D

For side dishes have pea sprouts, gyoza, crab meat claw and some grapes/oranges.

I hope you like this simple panda bento and hopefully the haze will go away! We miss the fresh air so much..... sigh....

Bento2015#Sep14~Bunny Sleeping Bento

Sshh..... little bunny still sound asleep ^_^ I think I'm the one who wish to be like bunny can sleep longer whenever is back to school day after weekend :D Well no worries.... coming Wednesday I can have a day break since is a Public Holiday for Malaysia Day! Yay!

So let's get back to my bunny bento. Is pretty simple and easy to make that I'm sure you can do it.



A closer look of the bunny bento. First, I shape the bunny head/ears/legs then leave a side. Second, I arrange some rice for the blanket, press firmly using cling wrap then cover up with inari. Third, I arrange the bunny head onigiri first follow by the ears (*Note: I didn't secure the ears with spaghetti since I'm putting broccoli). Next, I arrange the arms and finish up with the face feature nori (freehand scissor cut). The red part is make of crabstick. 


As for side dishes have pan-fried fish fillets, crabroll, carrots, quail egg and some grapes.

Bento2015#Sep07~Sleepy Molang

Making "Molang" again and this round I make Molang in sleepy mode :D Simple and quick one that I'm sure you can make it because I feel that I'm the one who wish to sleep now =_=" Yawn!

Here's the closer look of my sleepy Molang! I shape rice in few parts: body, legs, ears and tail. To let it secure to the body, I use spaghetti. Nori for Molang face details.
 
As for side dishes have gyoza, lady's finger/okra and grapes.

Bento2015#Sep03~Pusheen The Cat

So long didn't make Pusheen Bento ^_^ This round I make two different sizes and I got the ideas from Pusheen Google images! Haha.... 
I make one big Pusheen eating pizza and the one snuggle inari blanket.
 
To make Pusheen the cat black, I add little bit of charcoal powder mix with rice then shape it firmly using cling wrap. Next add on the nori details. Baby Pusheen make it smaller and hiding inside the inari pouch. I also punch out nori kitties and put on top of inari pouch ^_^
As for mini pizza make of egg sheet and the red dots are crabstick.
 
For side dishes have spring rolls, broccoli and shemeji mushroom.

Bento2015#Aug26~Miffy Thermos Bento

Do you like Miffy? Since I'm using Miffy thermos lunch box and I've created Miffy using different ingredients so this round I choose quail egg ^_^ I think is perfect due to Miffy is white colour :D How do I shape it? You just need hold the quail egg and rub palms together after peel away the eggshell while still hot. Easy right?  

A closer look of sweet Miffy quail egg :) I cut half of the quail egg for Miffy head so that will stay firm. Underneath is rice cover up by the sweet minced meat so that Miffy will stand out nicely on top. Cherry tomato for Miffy red dress and nori for details. As for ears/legs also make from quail eggs.
 
Honey cherry tomato, cucumber leave and half of the quail egg from Miffy.

Bento2015#Jul26~Bunny Deco Sushi

Yay! I'm so excited to get one copy of my dear talented and favourite bento food artist Shirley Wong from "Little Miss Bento" ^_^ This is her latest new launched Kawaii Deco Sushi Book that I must said very nice tutorial pictures taken and most importantly in English version :D So where to purchase? Since I got the book, I can't wait to practice my deco sushi but sadly didn't turn out as pretty as Master Shirley bunny deco sushi :D Looks like I need more practicing than will improve! I choose to bunny deco sushi among the rest because I like bunny :D   
 
Opps.... look at my first attempt creating big and unbalanced bunny ears =_=" Can you see that I actually making bunny deco sushi? Looks weird right? Hahaha.... 
Oh well, nothing comes easy so I need to practice again to get it correct.  
 
A closer look of my bunny deco sushi :) To make my bunny cute, I add extra lashes :D 

Underneath the bunny deco sushi, I add rice first and cover up with chicken floss. Arrange the deco sushi and some lettuce.

 
My fridge running out of ingredients so I use mashed sweet potato to make carrots! I also cut out some cherry tomato roses and decorate few slices of oranges behind the mashed potato carrots!
 
To match my bunny deco sushi theme, I use Bento&Co "WanWan" bento lunch box ^_^ Look kawaii together right?
