Bento#Feb16~Hello Kitty & Piano The Sheep

My daughter requested mini man-tou last night. I wanted to change few mini man-tou into animals but need more time to deco individual man-tou so better stick to the easier one~Hello Kitty. Haha....
I cooked fried rice and used egg sheet to wrapped. On top of it, I deco with ready cut Hello Kitty nori and apples. Steam prawn dumplings/siumai and mini man-tou. Cut checker apple and arranged it. A bit disappointed with the apple as outer part seem nice but when I trim away the skin a bit damage =_="

This is for my son's bento lunch. Argh.....the checker apple =_=" No time to cut new ones....

Hope you will like today's lunch bento and my daughter will never get bored when is Hello Kitty!!! Haha...

Bento#Feb15~Domo-kun loved balloons!!!

I bought a loaf of two tones bread (cocoa & white). And I noticed some of the cocoa part more than the white so decided to make Domo-kun for my kids school snack bento ^_^

This pink bento box Domo-kun is for my daughter. For your info that I actually swapped the domo-kun as this is much more bigger than the other after taking pictures!! While making it didn't realize =_=" Ok, back to making....I used scissor to cut out the cocoa part for Domo-kun body. Used hand cutter domo-kun hands and boiled crab stick for mouth & teeth. Underneath Domo-kun will be red bean bun. Secured the hands with spaghetti strips or you may spread some jam/mayo etc... Then I add some balloons for Domo-kun and some grapes, marshmallow and homebaked Hello Kitty pineapple tarts ^_^

This red bento box Domo-kun is for my son. As you can see this Domo-kun smaller than the above bento :) The slices of two tones bread for cocoa part not big enough so that's the bigger size I can cut out. Everything the same as above except the balloons and pineapple tarts as piggy.

Bento#Feb14~Blonde hair girl

Its Monday!! Today's lunch for my girl will be mini man-tou & kaya pau :) Not many ingredients as my fridge mostly frozen foods! Haha...So today's lunch will be simple!

I used oval shape cutter to cut out the cheese for face and put on top of the steamed kaya pau. Punch nori for eyes, nose & lips. Freehand cut the eyelashes. Then put some chicken floss for the girl blonde hair and cut bbq cheese using heart shape cutter for the girl dress. Just trim away the tip and put together with the girl face. Then use hand cutter to cut the cheese and arranged it. Deco with some nori partern for the dress. By the way, the white eye balls were fondants! 
When my girl saw this blonde hair girl, the first things she asked me: Mummy, why is the girl so FAT??? Gosh....

The rest of the mini man-tou, I deco the flower carrots on top and insert heart picks! Another side of the container will be sausages, cucumber and dragon fruits.

Bento#Feb13~Hello Kitty & Piggies

Oh....one week school holidays break ended. Tomorrow back to school and my bento diary start work again :) Kids requested to have CNY cookies for their snack bento so here I made Hello Kitty & Piggies bento for both of them ^_^

This is for my daughter's bento box. Inside this box contain : Butter bun (spread kaya for her), pineapple tarts, honey cherry tomato and grapes.

Pineapple tarts that I made as Hello Kitty. Using cookies cutter to made ^_^

Trim away the middle part for Hello Kitty face and I used Hello Kitty face puncher to punch out nori for eyes and whiskers. Cheese for nose and freehand cut the cheese out for dress. Add alphabets fondants for the dress and insert ribbon pick for Hello Kitty :) Also trim away the bun skin for Hello Kitty hands to holds the balloons.

Next, cut honey cherry tomato as heart and insert Hello Kitty picks and leaf pick for grapes. Lastly, add two cute Hello Kitty pineapple tarts ^_^

 This is for my son's bento box~Piggies~ Each piggies made from cheese and hold a heart fondants. The first pig on the left holds the heart from back and the 2nd pig also the middle pig holds in front facing us! The last pig on the right holds a heart fondant as balloon and feeling shy :p 

Piggies pineapple tarts, grapes and butter bun (spread blueberries jam).

So which bentos you like or prefer?? Hehehe...

Bento#Feb12~Be Mine Valentine Froggies

It's Valentine's Day!!! Happy Valentine's Day to all of you ^_^

Today I made "Be Mine Valentine" cute couple froggies for my hubby :p

Froggies made from two different type of cheese and used bear cookie cutter mold to cut out the cheese and turn it into frogs :) Couple frogs eyes/nose/lips used puncher to punch nori except the female frog eyelashes freehand scissor cut the nori. Put flower pick in the middle to show that the male frog gave flower to the female frog ^_^ Also to hints my hubby!!! Haha...

The heart shape egg a bit failure =_=" I just want to try out my new mold by using microwave to make sunny up egg. The instruction all in Japanese words and I totally cannot understand :( Gosh.....just based on the picture to figure it out and hmmm....didn't turn out well. *Sigh

To make it nicer, I used heart shape cookie cutter to cut out "肉干" sweet pork jerky and cover it in the middle and slowly trim the top part of yolk and put next to sweet pork jerky. Next, add small heart nori surrounded the two hearts :) Lastly, cut out small heart shape for grapes and cucumber and secure with heart picks!

Bento#Feb11~Valentine's Day Hello Kitty & Dear Daniel

Two more days will be Happy Valentine's Day!! I made a Valentine's Day theme bento for my girl's lunch at home ^_^ As usual, her favourites ~Hello Kitty & Dear Daniel~

Shaped the cooked rice mixed with Sakura powder with cling wrapper and arranged it in the middle. Boiled broccoli and crab stick that I used cutter to out the heart shape and arranged on top of the broccoli. Next, used Hello Kitty cookie cutter to cut out the egg white sheet for their face and trim away some egg white sheet for Dear Daniel. Freehand cut out nori for eyes, eyelashes, whiskers and hair. I also use cutter to cut the egg white sheet for their hands holding "LOVE" pick! Sweet corn for their nose and now I looked at the picture...looks too big for them =_=" haha :D

Here are the cutters that I've used for Hello Kitty & Dear Daniel.

Sweet corn, pan-fried fish and egg sheet as flower with leaf pick. Cut grapes as heart shape and secure with heart picks! Used flower cutter to the apple and take smaller flower cutter to cut the middle apple and trim away the skin. 

Here is the flower cookie cutters that I've used for the flower apples!

This small flower cutters I used for the crab stick flower that I deco on top of the pan-fried fish. Just overlapped the red/white crab stick after cut out.

For those who wondering what type of scissor I'm using for freehand cut the nori? Especially small details ^_^ 

These two bento tools that I used most often especially the scissor :) Is an eyebrow trim scissor that I bought for bento used not for my eyebrows! Haha...
