Bento#Feb05~Happy Family CNY Greetings!

Hope you all won't get bored of my CNY theme bento :p Today's lunch I cooked fried rice. Not much of ingredients as I don't have any vegetables left at my fridge only cucumber =_="
My daughter's lunch bento ^_^ Mother and daughter greetings! I'm not that expert can cut out the nori for "福" word. Too tiny!!! So I did some photoshop to add :D I steamed sweet potatoes and rolled as ball for mother and daughter face and hands. Freehand cut out nori for eyes, lashes, nose and hair. The lips used puncher to punch out. Some flower sausages and crab stick for fire crackers that I don't have the time to make it more nicer :)
This is for my son's lunch bento ^_^ Father and son greetings! Everything the same as sister bento but different faces :) Freehand cut the nori only for nose and son's eyebrow. The rest I used puncher to punch.
Some persimmon for dessert. Hope this festive CNY greetings will bring LUCK to you all and in good health too! Hugs & Cheers!

Bento#Feb04~CNY Wealth Of Flowering花开富贵

I'm making another CNY theme for snack bento~Wealth Of Flowering花开富贵~ As you can see the flower blooming!! Pretty right? I just used flower cutter mold that I've bought from 100 yens shop :)
Take one slice of bread (if used color bread even better). Take the flower cutter mold to cut out then I spread some strawberry chocolate and sprinkle some crushed pink fondant on top.
The second flower blooming in yellow and white colour. Same method, I cut out slice of white bread then cut out egg sheet for yellow colour. Combine the bread and egg sheet together by overlapping each other. You can used ham instead of egg sheet ^_^ Just have fun with the flower cutter!
Next, I put the alphabets "Wealth Of Flower" fondant on top of cheese and stick to the nori. Follow the flower shape and cut out the nori then put to toaster to toast a bit. Next, I add mandarin orange with leaf pick :)
Lastly, I added haw flakes, raisin and marshmallow to filled up the empty part. I hope you will like this simple CNY theme bento ^_^ Cheers!

Rilakkuma made from Inari skin wrap cooked rice. Used puncher to punch the nori for eyes  and nose. Freehand cut the nori for mouth. The snake, I mixed green sprinkles food to cooked rice. Used cling wrap to wrap out the snake head shape and combine Rilakkuma together. Arranged to the bento box then only add snake body. Cut some crab stick for snake white body and add nori strips. Finally, filled up all the holes with sweet corn, sausages, crab stick as flower and edamame with picks. Also cut two persimmon as mandarin orange for CNY ^_^

I choose my mother's recipe pastry as when I'm young, she used to baked lots of goodies!! Well, looks like passed on to me but I'm a bit lazy to baked :p Another things was the pastry not many ingredients just Flour/Butter/Eggs!!!

But if you like to see better photo tutorial can always go to this link: Mothering Corner   I followed the "piggy" tutorial shapes but used my mother's recipe pastry :) At the link is pretty easy to understand with the step by step pictures. Bento#Feb01~Gong Xi Fa Cai恭喜发财CNY Bento

Today's dinner I make Chinese New Year theme bento~Gong Xi Fa Cai~ Time to practice some CNY theme ideas!!! Since after cooked dinner for my family, I've the time to prepared this cute laughing girl holds mandarin orange :)
A closer looked for cute girl laughing until her eyes closed!! Once again, freehand scissor cut out nori for girl's eyes, eyebrows, nose, hair and mouth. As I'm making a bigger face girl so her eyes are much more easier to cut :) For her face and hands, I mixed some tomato ketchup with cooked rice then used cling wrap to wrap out. Crab stick for girl's dress and I added eggyolk sheet on top of the crab stick. As for her pretty hat, I added eggwhite sheet first then slowly decorate with cucumer for leaf, crabstick for flower and small patterns. Eggyolk sheet for the yellow parts :p I also wrap nori with rice to showed the braid hairstyle and scissor cut "X". After done the braids looked great!
Cooked some ginger prawns  and bean curd soup. As the girl was the main character so I just add "CNY" picks and flags so won't be too complicated :)
What do you think of this cute girl? Hope you all will like her cheerful smiles ^_^

Here I wish you all have a wonderful coming weekends! Hugs!
