Bento2014#Apr23~Cutezcute Froggy Bento

Here's my yesterday bento lunch that I've mentioned on my previous post ^_^ If you're in a rush and want to make cute bento for your kids....use cute mould to shape it! Not just bread but rice too! I did made few designed using cookie cutter as well Cutezcute cutters! Click HERE & HERE for my past post using Cutezcute :)

To matched my froggy bento box, I shaped the rice as froggy too! Mixed the rice with green furikake (a bit dark green as I don't have light green) After mixed well, used cling wrap to wrap the rice then put to the Cutezcute mould to shape. Lastly, take the froggy cutter to cut out carrots for the details. Simple right?

Note: After done phototakings, I covered it and the carrots fits inside the rice & makes it perfect! I didn't pressed it before add the bento cover but happen that can't close tightly so no other choice by pressing it. When I open and check see what happen with the carrots.....ended all fits right to the rice :D hahaha....just sharing as I didn't take another picture of it!

Side dishes have soy sauce chicken drumettes, cucumber, carrots, chicken floss and checker apple.

I hope you will like this Cutezcute Froggy Bento and if you have the cutter and create more other characters! Is fun ^_^

Lemon Cheese Cake Hello Kitty

Since at home with kids, I try to force myself on baking :D Yes....force myself!!! I know my daughter LOVE cheese cake but I'm kinda lazy on baking.....like to see other people delicious yummy pictures posted from FB/Pinterest etc... just don't seem to have the mood or motivation =_=" So like I said forcing myself and ta-da....my first attempt Lemon Cheese Cake ^_^

I was so careless while baking, I forgot to turn the oven heat for both side so ended the top part overbaked....by the time I checked the cake has turned to overbaked....sigh....so I quickly turn the heat to bottom and enough for the top!!! To cover the ugly part....I decorate Hello Kitty on top by dashing some icing sugar :)

If you like to try this recipe...here is it (Recipe from Lovely Butter Cakes Recipe Book by Amy Wong & K.S. Lee)

Ingredients B (mixed)
  • 200g         self-raising flour
  • 1 tbsp       Parmesan cheese
Ingredients C (mixed)
  • 100g         whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp       lemon juice
Topping
  • 30g           lemon rind

  2. Add eggs for three times. Combine the mixture with the first egg before adding second and third egg. Beat well.
  3. Slowly fold in ingredients B.
  4. Lastly pour in ingredients C and mix well.
  5. Pout the batter into 8x3x3 inches baking mould.

Elsa Frozen Food Art

Today blog post I'm going to post my last night dinner food art for my daughter ^_^ I won't be posting or making bento for next week since is their school break. So I thought of making food art instead :) Yesterday I made Olaf bento lunch and dinner time, I surprised her the leading character for Frozen.....who else?? Elsa!! The most tough part was Elsa's hairstyle =_=" Am lucky that I don't have to make Elsa bento for her school lunch cause I think won't be able to finish on time :D

Here is the close up Elsa ^_^ Last night dinner I cooked chicken rice so Elsa's face/body made from chicken rice :p Her pretty blue gown was mixed with some blue pea flower juice. To made her hair, I just freely cut out the crabstick (white) using small knife and add nori for the details so it bring out nicely with tone! For Elsa face details also freehand scissor cut out by looking at the picture (luckily didn't look weird without trace on baking paper).

Simple dinner dishes: Stir fry veggies with shimeji mushroom, honey soy sauce drumettes (recipe from JustOneCookBook), corn potato carrot soup and cheese as snowflakes :) By the way, do you notice the special effect light that shine from the cheese snowflake near Elsa hand? Haha....photo was taken during evening hour so that light was from table light and it turned out pretty good right?

I hope you will like my cute Elsa Frozen version ^_^ Have a great coming weekend! Cheers!
